It's just... ...it's really just surreal at this point for two legends like Awesome and Bam Bam to be gone like this so close to one another...hell of a 2007 so far RIP Mike.

God rest his soul. Mike Awesome was a great competitor, and I'm glad I saw some of his matches. His matches against Masato Tanaka were downright brutal, and it;s a shame he was never called to ECW. He would've been great there.

Great wrestler. I loved his matches in ECW with Tanaka, he will be truly missed.
R.I.P Mike Awesome

Also if anyone can locate any YouTube videos of his WCW 70's Guy stuff, I would like to see it. Sure it was a WC inductee, but I thought it was really funny in that crappy sort of way. I want to see it again.... Look on page 2 or 3 for some of his matches. Yeah I posted about 5 or 6 Mike Awesome matches on page 4 of this thread. Including a match he had with the ICP on Nitro in 2000 while in his "That 70's Guy" gimmick. Including an Awesome Bomb on top of his bus!

It's a damn shame. I loved Mike's ability to move around with an agility that big guys don't usually have. I loved his charictars even the 70's guy because even though Mike might not have liked it he went out and busted his ass to get that character over. His matches with Tanaka, Taz, Tajiri, and little spike were some of the best I saw in the later part of ECW. I'll miss ya

It is sad news. He seemed to latch onto silly gimmicks (You know the ones) and work his heart out.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't he the first WCW guy to attack WWE guy to set up the Invasion? At least he has a little bit of WWE history (Besides having the MOTN at the first ONS, in my opinion)
RIP Mike.

I didn't catch many of his career highlights in ECW, but I'm saddened to hear this nonetheless. Totally unexpected. RIP Mike.

I would have been less shocked if it was some sort of drug related death, but suicide thats just sad. Sad that he must of felt it was his only way out of whatever was bothering him in his life.
