not to stick up for punk to much or to discredit what you are saying, but raven isn't exactly the most reliable of sources.

not to stick up for punk to much or to discredit what you are saying, but raven isn't exactly the most reliable of sources. Why wouldn't he be? He's not on his drugs anymore. He'll lie to put himself over sometimes, but that was when he was joking around with The Sandman. Plus, with all the reports of his ego coming into play with Raven's information, it's hard to say there's no smoke with fire. Raven is one of the most intelligent wrestlers in the buisness, and he went out of his way to put Punk over and make him look good. It wasn't to help himself out, it was to get Punk over. So why would Raven lie that Punk told him that he was a big star before Raven got a hold of him (which is a lie, because I first heard of CM Punk because of his feud with Raven).

all i'm saying is that raven is known for having a hair trigger. if punk said one wrong thing, it would be enough to set raven off. as you said, he is one of the smartest guys in the buisness, ande he knows the quickest way to slow a guy down is to float rumors of a bad attitude and/or drug problems. well, obviously the drug rumors wouldn't work with punk. and as far as going out of his way to get punk over, bottom line is that raven goes out of his way to get anyone over because, once aggain, he's smart. the more his opponent gets over, the more he gets over, the more money he makes. it's just good buisness.
anyway, my point is that raven has had alot of problems with alot of people over alot of years. i just can't take his word as much as i could others.

But why would Raven want to slow a guy down? He first said this while CM Punk was still in ROH, and went into further detail on it when Punk was in OVW. Hell, in Punk's OVW debut, one of the first thing's out of Al Snow's mouth when putting Punk over was talking about his feud with Raven. And not only that, why would Raven need to get himself more over. He's already a big named star. He left Ring of Honor after the feud ended, and was only there to get Punk over. He even put Punk over as being really similar to himself. He said that Punk reminds him of himself when he was younger. Back in the day, Raven wasn't the type to take advice from people, and came off as arrogant. So yeah, he has had problems with a lot of people over the years, and if Raven is right that Punk is similar to him, Punk will have lots of problems with people over the years. Again, why would Raven lie? Internet rumours should usually be discarded UNLESS there is some underlying proof, then it can be looked into more. Basically, the thought that he was disrespectful and that when a vetern tried to give him advice, he blew it off. That's believable, because it's not the first time it's happened. Punk is a great talent, but he's not perfect. Just because he's straight edge or a great wrestler, doesn't mean he is a perfect human being with no personality flaws.

it may be true. i don't want to fight with ya about it, and i'm not trying to bust your balls or defend punk too much. i just get really leary about listening to other people about a worker. there have been alot of guys that i have heard are terrible people that have been really cool (lex luger for example) and others that have been passed off as great guys and are total dicks (konnan and ron killings are my favorite examples).
