Sabu was the man who truly brought hardcore wrestling to the States. You could make a case for Terry Funk and the original Sheik, but I believe Sabu will be remembered years from now as a Hardcore Grappler more so then Terry or Sheik.

The Steiner Brothers are one of the most accomplished tag teams ever. With their harder but technical style, it was always entertaining watching them. It's too bad Scott when bats*** crazy and Rick started shooting on young Indy guys because it has tainted their status in wrestling history.

Another quick update...
Holy crap, there are 159 wrestlers vying for the Top 50 spot... It seems like this side of the forum (The WWE side) is very very 'E-centric, as there have been little to no love for any indy wrestler in the past few... Remember, this isn't strictly WWE/F... Otherwise, the list is shaping up very well, and the last few lists have actually shaken up the Top 5 a little bit, so keep those votes coming!

One of the most recognizable figures in pro wrestling who's crowd appeal has followed him for several decades. Unfortunately, when the time comes for The Nature Boy to hang em up, he'll be remembered merely as a shadow of his former self. Edit: Oh yeah, Rick Rude.

Rick Rude was a phenominal heel that sadly never really made much of an impact on the business.

Raven is an Icon of Hardcore wrestling. A very intelligent man who truly understands the business of wrestling. He is willing to do almost anything to entertain the fans.

Had me up until "Everything I Do" from Robin Hood. Still a very underrated guitarist, though. He was also a pretty decent big dude. When he turned heel against Savage and started painting his face with Mr. Fuji was the highlight of his career for me. Kronik could have been a pretty decent team...if it was two other dudes. I like the Rock, he brought charisma, watchable wrestling and entertainment to the wrestling screen.
Plus the catchphrases despite over use were still fun and entertaining if you compare them to the current wwe.

Jake Roberts is one of those guys who's influence still lives on. Whenever anybody gets on the mic, they hope that they can be nearly as good as Jake was. The beady eyes, the almost whisper-like tone of his voice, it made you feel as if Jake could really kill whoever he was getting in the ring with. His in-ring work was also good, and most of it (unlike a lot of others) is still good today. If it weren't for the drugs and alcohol, I always figured he would've had a much longer career, and maybe a world title.

Mind you Charle Wright has had an interesting and varied career, from Kama to Papa Shango. But deep down he just wanted to get on down with his ho's!!

UPDATE: Right now, I won't say who the wrestler is, but he's currently in 1st place with an almost 100 point lead! Also, currently, there are 3 wrestlers tied for 3rd (will end up being 3rd-5th) so any vote for one of these men will change it up, guaranteed. The Top 10 itself has shaped up, mostly to what I expected. What stats would you guys want to see when these are posted? I know I'll be posting the full standings (All 170+), complete with points and total # of votes, but is there anything else?
Every time there is an up-and-coming star, there tends to be unwarranted comparisons to older wrestlers. Problem with Alex Shelley, he is definitely like Chris Jericho's younger brother. Just as cocky, just as funny, just as talented (debatable). He's definitely got the charisma to make it big, it's just about asking when the WWE will take notice...
