Diamond Dallas Page is a good example of a guy who's managed to remain a favorite despite never being the top star. He's one of the few outside of Hulk Hogan from WCW's height of popularity that appeared on mainstream non-wrestling TV. Started out a little lacking in the ring, but worked hard to justify his push and earned the respect of fans.

JBL toiled in mediocrity for years as the generic brawler Bradshaw, before assuming the more true to life JBL persona. People said he didn't deserve the title, but he silenced a lot of critics by playing the character to perfection, cutting unique and entertaining promos. and having some of the most gruesome title defenses in WWE history. When you saw his matches, you always thought JBL was going to lose the title, but for a long time he didn't.

William Regal... funny story, today I actually was at Barnes & Nobles and picked up "To Walk A Golden Mile"... can't wait to read it. Regal's one of those guys who you just have to respect on principle without even hearing about what kind of guy he is. Regal is one of those guys who has just been sucha solid worker for so many years, and continously fits on whatever WWE programming is necessary. Definitely has a job for life, and I don't blame them.

Chris Jericho is one of the best in the business on the mic and in terms of in ring work as he almost never fails to deliver. He put on one hellva match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIX which should've catapulted Jericho back into the main event scene but sadly didn't. He needs to return to wrestling as he can instantly help either company right now.

Dustin Rhodes/Goldust is one of the most unique characters in the wrestling business ever. He helped put over the attitude era with his gender bending character and was an ok wrestler. I loved his tag team with booker and even his stuttering gimmick.
