Okay,
Sorry of this has been posted elsewhere, I did look for it, but it seems to me that they have finally given up on WECW.
According to 411mania.com :
“Dusty Rhodes has been moved to ECW as part of the creative team. Vince McMahon has been very upset with the brand and feels it is time to turn it around or "put a bullet into it." While he stayed quiet, Michael Hayes was not happy that Rhodes was sent to ECW as they had basically been co-booking Smackdown”
Then hours later this came from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“ECW has now become a vehicle to make Bobby Lashley a superstar. Vince McMahon is determined to make Lashley look as strong as possible. The new idea is to make Lashley into an unstoppable, dominant champion. The ECW brand is now the catalyst that gives Lashley the credibility to be one of the company's top stars. ECW as a concept is pretty much dead, only surviving because they have a television commitment on Sci Fi to live up to. The main point of the brand is that when it's all over, Lashley can be moved over to one of the other brands and be seen as an equal to the other world champions.”
So it seems they’re done. I am for one am ecstatic. I’ve never considered this thing more than just a third brand and have always stated that I would be fine with it if they changed the name to WWE Hardcore or something similar. Calling it ECW really hurt its chances.
I am upset with certain members of the talent who completely destroyed their own legacies by becoming everything that McMahon wanted, but I do understand that a man has got to eat. Ten bucks says that most, if not all of the originals, including Joey and Taz, release shoot tapes in the future damning Vince and Co. Sorry guys, too little too late.
Anyway, WECW is on life support and I’m okay with it. Sometimes truly great things are never meant to be duplicated.
Including the Horseman.
Tell me your thoughts.

I can never EVER buy Lashley as a champion or main eventer. He has absolutely ZERO charisma.
I really don't understand this. You can't find a big buff dude who doesn't sound like a freaking 5 year old? This is really the best you got?

Can't buy Lashley as Champ either, I'd take Cena over him but I accept it's gonna happen

The fact that he is incorporating himself into an ECW storyline and has appeared on the program two weeks in a row idicates that he isn't ready to give up on it yet.
If he tries, he can succeed. That is all there is to it. Now it's just a matter of giving a damn about what his fans want to see.

At least Cena has some charisma. Even Batista has more then Lashley and Batista is terrible.

So I've noticed...basically Vince is not hell bent on making Lashley the black Batista/Lesnar...can never get enough of those hosses. All you need to have is huge neck muscles and you can have one of the WWF's 2,354 championship belts!
I tuned in last night when they had all the contenders in the rings and I was like "Who the hell is that other guy with the belt? Oh it's just Lashley...too many damn "champions"

The sad thing is ECW is so easily fixable.
Make it like original ECW and people who watched original ECW will watch!

So if this is true, it would be interesting to have a "cleanout draft" with Raw and Smackdown
I say this:
Lashley (RAW) Punk (Smackdown) Striker (RAW) Thorn (Smackdown)....you know they'll think about an Undertaker feud CorVon (RAW) Burke (Smackdown) Snitsky (RAW) Kelly Kelly (Smackdown)
and if they keep them around/they decide to stick around
RVD (RAW) Sabu (Smackdown) Sandman (RAW) Dreamer (Smackdown) Ballz Mahoney (RAW)

Well if they actully tried to book a decent show instead of waiting for a 3rd rate wrestling show on mtv to light a fire under their ass. ECW had the tools to be good, and with proper booking any show can be enjoyable. Instead they show the same mainevent week after week, and only announced two matches for their ppv. The New Breed vs. Originals fued should have been done seven months ago. Not just starting now. They should have booked the show just like Raw or Smackdown, then having 2 shows that acted kinda like a ppv. They kinda had this with the show ecw taping at the hammerstein but it was crapped off with crappy Batista vs. Big Show mainevent. The world was ready for ECW to be reborn, WWE just didnt have any clue how to do it.

It's so ridiculously sad when you have such good guys on the Indies. Take Nigel Mcguinness. Big, Strong and has CHARISMA. Or Claudio. There is SO MUCH WWE could do yet the audience gets the crappiest pro wrestlers ever.

Lashley should've been the main eventer on Smackdown. He has more upside than Batista, at least in the ring in terms of youth, endurance, and moveset. Charisma is a problem, but he can't control the tone of his voice.
It seems like Vince is trying to blame the workers for ECW's failure. Sure, give them bad storylines, only an hour to squeeze in maybe 4 matches, and cut out all the essential ECW-ness, then tell me how effective you are at pushing a brand with a classic legacy attached (TNA on the other hand somehow managed to crawl out of the shadow of the old NWA).
And I'll take Test back in the main event if the alternatives are Snitsky and Baldcore.
