Unless he is willing to put someone over (which he clearly is not) then no dice. Everyone who gets in the ring with HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN is put over just by wrestling him. They receive the biggest push of their lives and get more exposure than at any other time in their career. Losing to HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN is actually better for your career. Because the fans leave happy. And if they leave happy they are more likely to return. When HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN was jobbing to everyone in 2002 the WWF took a huge hit as a lot of people tuned out. Fans don't want to see HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN lose. And being that HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN is still the #1 draw, it shows that it's better for business to have HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN win.

Fans don't want to see HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN lose. I do. Well thats not 100% true, I don't want to see him at all. Ever. But if I have to put up with seeing him wrestle (the only thing worse than hearing one of his promos, by the way.) I want to see him lose. I say 2002 was his best run yet. Watching him tap to Kurt Angle's ankle lock was like a dream come true. Ahhhhh... good times.

Nope.
Unless it's Hogan vs. Austin, with Hogan jobbing to Austin.

Nope. Unless it's Hogan vs. Austin, with Hogan jobbing to Austin. "Stinko" Steve wouldn't stand a chance against HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN.

To not have Hogan at Wrestlemania is like not having Superman at the 'Greastest Superheroes in the world' Convention. Biggest name, biggest show. Easy to equate the two, nobody draws as much as Hogan.
Not to mention the fact that was chosen as the venue because it's the 20th anniversary of the biggest wrestling match of ALL time.

I'm kind of neutral on the matter, but I'd probably lean towards "no". What bothers me is when people say, "it's not Wrestlemania without Hulk Hogan"--does that mean WM's 10-17 didn't count? It's definitely still Wrestlemania without Hulk Hogan.

Hogan is really too old to wrestle convincingly anymore, repeatedly bringing him back for a cheap pop to increase PPV sales stinks of WCW's dying days (and we all know how those turned out). God knows how they'd try to make a convincing-looking fight between him and Khali. No, give some new people a chance, look to the future and not the past. WWE has done very little to gain a new fanbase post InVasion (as opposed to using nostalgia to call up the existing fanbase). Then again, PPVs are way to expensive for me to justify buying, so my voice doesn't count anyway ;D

It's definitely still Wrestlemania without Hulk Hogan. It's because for many Hogan represents Wrestlemania, like a main figurehead for the show. He's headlined more than anyone else despite the fact that he wasn't around for 8 of them.

Despite how many votes here that Hogan may lose, casual and oldschool fans still want to see the guy, so that's why they call on him.

He's not losing that many, to be honest. Its not a lopsided poll by any means.

There are 3 phases of being a Hogan fan.
#1 Your a kid and you mark for Hogan
#2 You get a bit older, grow some pubes, get Smark, and hate Hogan. (This is the category most people in the IWC fall into, there is no arguing with them. Almost everybody goes through this phase. Especially if you started watching wrestling I the 90's.)
#3. you grow up, realize what Pro Wrestling is all about and realize Hogan is the man.

No, give some new people a chance, look to the future and not the past. WWE has done very little to gain a new fanbase post InVasion (as opposed to using nostalgia to call up the existing fanbase). They're trying, but the new guys aren't connecting with the fans and thus aren't drawing. When men in their fifties outdraw the men in their twenties, it's not a booking problem, it's a talent problem. Until guys come along who can bring in fans, the WWF needs HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN and other legends to keep people watching.

I think Shane vs. Hogan has the most potential, but something like Khali vs. Hogan or Big Show vs. Hogan would be more impressive and would probably be cooler for nostalgia purposes, seeing Hogan bodyslam a 500+ pounder in Detroit, two decades after he did it to Andre.
Ultimately though, I'd pay top dollar to see him go head-to-head with Stone Cold, but unfortunately that's never going to happen...ever.

No. I was a big Hogan mark in the day but the Hogan nostalgia has worn thin. Especially with Hogan Knows Best making it seem like just a money making Brooke promoting venture. If its not against Austin or Show, I don't want it. I know the match will be predictable and end with a big boot/legdrop...I don't want to be subjected to boring promos leading up to it, and I dont want it to take away from deserving guys getting a spot on the card.
Sorry, Hulk. If Austin's not in, neither am I.

I'm not so big on the idea. I would rather see HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN win the WWF World title from Cena and then get the biggest pop in pro wrestling history by destroying the spinner belt. I want to see that too. Damn "Stinko" Steve and that yellow streak down his back! No. I was a big Hogan mark in the day but the Hogan nostalgia has worn thin.
