Here's your story. Undertaker won the Royal Rumble, thus giving him the right to challenge for a Championship. He choose to challenge for the one on the brand he wrestles for.

Groundbreaking, I know. But that is the story. and that's basically all you need. That and the fact they have never had a match before. Alongside The Undertaker's streak being on the line as well as Batista's Championship. Anyways who else could you of put up against Batista at Wrestlemania? Mr. Kennedy, nope. They already blew that. Mark Henry, nope. Although there is a story there would you really prefer to see that over Batista vs. The Undertaker. Atleast with The Undertaker in the match, there is a possibility of it being decent if he's able to carry Batista.

I dont know... I'm someone who wants my main events to have long, building stories.... feuds... rivalry.... not so rushed, fast-paced, and thrown together...
I just dont get why bookers have to throw together stories so damned fast ... maybe im getting old.

I like the idea of a long building story. It's just become to hard for that now days. With a weekly television show and a PPV every month, it's made if pretty much impossible to start building Wrestlemania storylines before the Royal Rumble.
and this having two brands doesn't help matters either.

How was Andre/Hogan years in the making? They fought like once or twice before that, once before they were in the WWF and one when they were in the WWF and Hogan was heel. But other than that, Andre just showed up in an interview and ripped up Hogan's shirt like a month or two before WM 3.
Hogan got his match with Warrior when, surprise, he won the Rumble by throwing over Perfect, semi-ending THEIR feud, and then he moved on to Warrior.
Savage/Flair began not too long after Rumble 1992, where Randy was still feuding with Jake Roberts.
Hell, Rock/Austin 2 began like a month before WM 17 at No Way Out when Rock won the title.
Honestly, besides Savage/Hogan and maybe HHH/Batista, I can't think of any Wrestlemania main event that began it's build-up before the Rumble. Hence why the Rumble is called "the first step on the road to Wrestlemania".
Maybe it's because wrestling is more fast-paced nowadays that it seems like that, but this "thrown-together" booking is nothing new.

I wasnt excited for last years main event until I got to the arena and the crowd was really hot for HHH. So it could be the same. I really dont want HBK to win those. Yeah the crowd really saved that match...
