Does anybody else think that Lashley is the single worst ECW champion ever? I wouldve much rather had Kennedy or even Holly as champion over this guy. There is absolutely nothing "Extreme" about im except his freakish muscles that Vince has a hardon for.

If this show was taped in front of its own crowd instead of being essentially Veocity-with-a-belt, it would be different. Can you imagine the reception he'd get at the Hammerstein Ballroom? |

It'd probably be really loud because Bobby Lashley works really hard.
Chanting "YOU CAN't WRESTLE" to him while cheering Sandman and Dreamer makes no sense at all.
Lashley is really good, can pace himself, sells well, and can throw people without it looking sloppy.
I like Bobby Lashley, he is over, and well He's black.
It was Heyman's idea to bring Lashley over and crown him as ECW champ...

If you look at it as an extension of the WWE, just another brand, then its not so bad, but when you look at it like a revival of the old ECW, then it sucks. Lashley is a good WWE star, but he's no ECW guy. unfortunately, thats just the way it is.

Lashley is not that bad. He just out of place. ECW just doesn't fit him. He belongs on Smackdown or Raw. In the ring he not the worst guy. He just not Extreme. Then again Big Show wasn't that wonderful either but was better because he did do Extreme matches.

It'd probably be really loud because Bobby Lashley works really hard. If you mean loud as in booing him out of the building and totally crapping on him, then yes you're right. And it would be completely deserved. The man's about as over as a turtle and as entertaining in and out of the ring as a cardboard cutout. It actually makes perfect sense, because he can't. Sandman was never a phenomenal wrestler, and he admits it, which is why he did the whole entrance and Singapore cane gimmick. "Hide the negatives" and all that. As for Tommy, Tommy is a great wrestler, far better than Lashley. The man's no Dynamite Kid, but he can put on good matches. Just because Vince and Co. don't think so, doesn't mean he can't. He practically carried all of ECW on his shoulders during its dying years. I'd like to see Lashley even attempt that. Are we talking about the same guy? Blackberg? Choc Lesnar? Or is there some other Lashley that exists in a paralell universe that you're seeing? The man is slow as hell, and I've seen fat indy wrestlers that did moves better than him. His "spear" looks like he just tripped and fell headfirst into his opponent's gut. His promos are entertaining, though. Just not for the right reasons. True, false, true. Actually, all we know for sure is that he whined about wanting to leave SmackDown and work for Paul, and he got it. We can't prove anything else for certain. Sorry, I just felt I should clear those things up. |
