It woulda been interesting to see them do what they did with Heyman/Big Show with Lashley in Show's place.

Sorry, but most credible champions have been had to learn how to speak. The fans will never get behind a guy who does'nt unite them.
I'm not gonna say Lashley cant wrestle because I saw him in OVW and he can. However, Bobby Lashley has always been at best worthy of being a transitional champion.
And if you look at the ECW ratings, they have fallen hard since Lashley and I always believe that the champion is a huge representation of the ratings.
I suggest they make Lashley lose the title and if WWE is serious about making Lashley a star, get him some classes for promos. Remember, Trish Stratus was horrible before she was taught.

Does anybody else think that Lashley is the single worst ECW champion ever? I wouldve much rather had Kennedy or even Holly as champion over this guy. There is absolutely nothing "Extreme" about im except his freakish muscles that Vince has a hardon for. GAH! Kennedy is marked for bigger things I think. Sparky Plugg is awful. I don't even know why he's still employed. But you're right, it's Lashley's muscles that Vince likes. He has no wrestling ability or charisma, so it's the only logical explanation. |

I think Lashley can wrestle, I think he was an accomplished ametuer wrestler. But every time someone is big WWE gives them a couple of power moves and the marks all follow what they say like sheep. I would be ok with Lashley if he was anywhere else but ECW because ECW is supposed to be a show for us, the wrestling fans but they ruined it.

Regardless of the fact that I reckon he stinks in every respect, the question is why does he have the ECW Belt, not his level of ability. He lacks the qualities to be in anyway connected to ECW. In my opinion Randy Savage was 100x the wrestler Bubba from Forrest Gump is, but he is equally as useless in ECW.

My issue is that some people here (Im not trying to accuse you) are crapting on the guy because it's the trend. It seems like this happens ever year (see: Cena, John from around this time last year) I would like Lashley a lot more if the man could cut a promo without sounding like a 4 year old. Another thing I hate is those stupid "heartwarming-get-to-know-him-better" videos that we're forced to watch. Every time one of those comes on, I groan and change the channel. I want my ECW champion to be badass. I dont want to know about how sad it was that his parents weren't there when he wrestled as a amateur. Sure, it sucked for him, but to me, it make him look soft. I dont care who you are. With very few exceptons (Sabu), if you can't cut a promo, you shouldnt even be considered a main event contender. Sure, promos arent everything, but they sure are a good chunk of what makes a good wrestler, and Lashley sucks at them. |

It was Heyman's idea to bring Lashley over and crown him as ECW champ... It was apparently Heyman's idea to bring him in as a heel champ associated with Heyman to take Big Show's role in Heyman's feud with the ECW originals. |

It seems like this happens ever year (see: Cena, John from around this time last year) Im not saying Lashley is Bret Hart in there, but he's no worse IMO than say, Goldberg, or Kane. I'd like him a lot more if it weren't for the mega-push. It's WAY too soon. I mean, he still works like a mid-carder, he hasn't come close to polishing his style; not to mention he just looks completely lost when cutting an interview. It just feels really forced, and people(myself included) hate that. I think your opinion cuts to the heart of the Lashley-hate. He became champion of every smark's favorite-little-promotion-that-could, and it upset a lot of folks. Remember, the Big Show's reign as ECW champ was supposed to be the death knell of ECW, but by the time he left, most people were pleased with his run. It's not Lashley's fault that he was pushed too hard, too soon, but he's doing his best with what they're giving him, and it looks like he's trying to learn. It finally looks like the WWE is working within his limitations. He's not a fast-talking motormouth like Monty Brown, he's just a hard-working guy from a lower-middle class background, so they are emphasizing this with some nicely done vignettes. He's still rough around the edges, but give him a break! It's not his fault Vince wanted to push him, and as long as he's working and adjusting his game to live up to the push, we can't really blame Lashley. I think his high profile match at Wrestlemania and a possible post-Wrestlemania feud with Snitsky will really be the make or break time for Bobby. |

i dont mind lashley. i think hes quite good in the ring, and looks pretty intimidating. get him a manager to do his talking, and he would be great. i just dont think hes ready for a world title yet.

Everyone hates this guy, I get it, but he really is not that bad of an actual in ring performer, especially considerring his size.
As for the worst Ecw champ of all time, there are a few that I think are worse including the sloppy Sandman, Dreamer and maybe if your talking pure botchfest, Sabu, but that ones debatable.
