It's been said, but I have to say it again. A guy like Benoit, or Regal for that matter, is an absolute necesity for a show to succeed.
They get reactions, that's always a good thing, but they also can help young guys (who get little or no "seasoning" much of the time, and are rushed on to TV) with "on the job training" so to speak. This is what a good veteran is supposed to do, and both guys I mentioned do it as well as anyone.

Yeah, let's release the worker who works his ass off, but keep a certain main eventer who doesn't care about shit!

Yes, let him go to ROH and Japan where he belongs.

You can't just have a wrestling card with ONLY huge draws. Do you really want HHH, Batista, Cena and HBK and the handful of others of their stature be the only people in WWE? Someone send that note to Vince, because he's missed that boat. Should Benoit be released? Ummm... No. What he should be is "used better". I can't believe he's in a throw-away match at No Way Out when he (AND THE US TITLE) could be warming up the undercard. I wish they'd read RD's book or something. This is the problem every promotion has ever had - relying too much on the "top tier" draws and ignoring the midcard. And then, Triple H blows out a wheel and we're stuck with crap at 'Mania. AGAIN.

In fairness to crap at Mania, Cena v. HBK is at least a lil interesting

From a fans standpoint, I would say yes. I think he would put on a much better show over in TNA than the WWE. I think he would be much more over in a TNA or ROH whose fans appreciate a good worker over an overpushed hoss. However, I vote no because I don't know Benoit personally. He may be happy where he is and he has busted his ass for years and deserves to atleast be employed by the company of his choice. I am sure he has an open invite to Japan, ROH, TNA or wherever he wants to go. However, I believe he likes the job security and job after in-ring work is over for him in the E.
I believe that Benoit should be a permanent heel. He doesn't have the charisma required to be a top card face. As a heel, mic skills are more important these days than in the 90's. However, getting to the top of the card lacking charisma is much easier as a heel than a face.

Am I alone in thinking I want them to give him back his triple snap suplexes? I loved those, and now they're just regular ones. That' bothers me for some reason.

It's not worth my time, you're blatantly an attention whore. If it's not worth your time, then why did you post in it twice? All the intelligent discussion that has happened in this thread is beginning to take a nosedive. Folks, let's get back to the debate. Should Benoit be released (he probably isn't the cheapest employee to have around, and he isn't the most over either) or should he be delegated to OVW or a developmental territory to develop and train new talent? His better days seem to be behind him. Discuss.

Nope he deserves another main event push first, hopefully as a vicious heel, ala 2000. And a PPV match with The Undertaker obviously.

His better days seem to be behind him. Discuss. And this can be said for many other Superstars... Kane and Regal just to throw in a couple of names. So should WWE fire every "non main eventer" older than, let's say, 30-35? Or those who can't get a decent reaction? I really don't get your point and the motivations. Benoit may not be over like Taker or other people, but he still gets nice pops. Not World Title level, but with a good push and a workable storyline it'd not be that hard.
