No, because he will just end up looking way better in TNA. and WWE doesn't want that.

His better days seem to be behind him. Discuss. if you think that, then look at the way he sells. even if he cant do as much offensively (i disagree with that too, just look at his matches with mr. kennedy), then he can still work an injury like hell. and if youre releasing benoit, surely you should release alot of other people too.

[ Should Benoit be released (he probably isn't the cheapest employee to have around, and he isn't the most over either) or should he be delegated to OVW or a developmental territory to develop and train new talent? His better days seem to be behind him. Discuss. And this can be said for many other Superstars... Kane and Regal just to throw in a couple of names. So should WWE fire every "non main eventer" older than, let's say, 30-35? Or those who can't get a decent reaction? I really don't get your point and the motivations. Benoit may not be over like Taker or other people, but he still gets nice pops. Not World Title level, but with a good push and a workable storyline it'd not be that hard. Kane and Regal are still over. I specifically mentioned Kane earlier as anm example. They also both have something Benoit has never had, a charismatic personality. There is a magnetism that draws you to their characters when they appear on screen. I'm just so bored of seeing Benoit chop chop chop suplex suplex suplex everyone. It gets old.

Truth is Benoit is needed. He may never get a main event style push again. But the WWE rely on him to help make young up and comer guys look good in the ring. Like he did for Orlando Jordan, or was it the cup of instant coffee benoit was pushing?

OK here's what they do with Benoit.
He loses the belt. Make it to some one embarrassing like Miz. Use a crazy gimmick like a corrupt ref <where's Danny Davis when you need him?>
He goes ballistic, tears up backstage, even strikes teddy long who has him taken out in handcuffs and suspended indefinitely.
The next week on Raw we hear Vince on the phone kissing his ass, saying he always admired his skill and passion how he never had to resort to barbwire and tables etc. Says maybe I have a special job for you.
On ECW there's Chris new leader of the "New Generation." Even Holly defers to him and shows him proper respect. They run that program all the way to a Survivor series match for control of ECW. And just when all seems lost for The Originals Benoit screws Vince ala Austin in the invasion angle. <In fact it'd be great to bring back Austin to lead the originals. They need a leader>

This is maybe the worst thread I have ever seen. Of Course you would never release Chris Benoit.

Nah, Beniot isn't going anywhere. He's still very much respected by most fans (even if they don't consider him a main eventer), and he's invalauble to have as a backstage presence for the younger guys on the roster as well as someone who can help get a future star over. If he "wanted" to leave I'm sure Vince would grant it to "him" out of respect but I don't see it happening.
Chavo Guerrero on the other hand.....

Like he did for Orlando Jordan, or was it the cup of instant coffee benoit was pushing? Benoit put Jordon over at the Great American Bash a month before Summerslam in a 14 minute match. And Benoit could not make Orlando look good at all. Orlando was a lost cause at that point. If someone has a had a bad match with Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Finlay or Samoa Joe and then they better start looking for a new line of work cause pro wrestling is not for them.

I was being sarcastic and i agree with you. I loved those "things that take longer than beating Orlando Jordan" vignettes. I really wish they'd use that side of Benoit. All you who complain that he has no charisma should watch them again. funny stuff. P.S add taker and I'm starting to think both Kennedy and MVP to that list.

That idea of incorporating Benoit into ECW sounded very, very cool.
I think it was said earlier in this thread, but you also can't make the "Benoit has no personality" argument.
Not so: Benoit has no gimmick, but he certainly has a personality. Ever since his days in Japan, Benoit's been great at displaying his character through his actions, facial expressions, and style in the ring. That's part of the art of wrestling, and why many gimmicks should really be considered a crutch for a performer: a truly great worker can get his personality over without needing to play a character at the same time.
That's a generalization, of course, since there's obviously more than just a small place for gimmicks in wrestling...there's a very, very big place. I'm talking more about gimmicks that allow a guy to skimp on other aspects of his performance, and not gimmicks that go hand in hand with it (see: Flair's Nature Boy gimmick has, for decades now, been a brilliant way to, especially when augmented by his facial expressions and movements, get his character over big time. Same with Bret's Hitman gimmick, yadda yadda yadda).
In other words, Benoit's not a guy who needs, nor should he even have, a gimmick. Put him in a storyline, let him use his actions and emoting abilities in the ring to get over what kind of character he is.
