Reality check time. Do you think that, if Masters REALLY put someone in the Masterlock, anyone could actually break it? I'm talking someone sitting down and Masters putting it on them from behind. Er.. if you know what I mean.
According to that IGN interview from a previous thread, he can BENCH PRESS 400 pounds(!) So I really can't imagine someone actually being able to "power out" of his full nelson.
Thoughts?

Power out? Probably not. Slide out of it, kick him in the nuts repeatedly, or anything else that I assume would count as breaking it, yes.

Oh and yeah, someone could power out, some kind of guy who is a bigger musclehead than him, or some guy who has ungodly strength like Mark Henry.

Wasn't there a tentative plan to have Henry break it? I guess that would have required him coming back as a face.

400 pounds really isn't that much, especially for a guy Master's size. I'd be willing to bet he's not even one of the top ten strongest guys on the roster. So yes, I do beleive it could be broken.

As was stated before,if by "break" you mean using pure muscle and strength to power out of it,then I'd say some of guys bigger than Masters have a good shot at it; however anyone with a decent amount of self-defense training knows trying to use just your strength to "muscle" out is the worst possible option when put into any type of hold, there are plenty of ways to "break" a hold involving a combination of leverage, speed, and strikes to vital areas of the anatomy regardless of the strength of the person applying the hold; if you count those as "breaking" the Masterlock, then almost anyone with a few years training in a grappling art such as Judo could indeed "break" the Masterlock.
Really, "The Masterlock Challenge" was exactly the same as Sgt.Slaughter's "Cobra Clutch Challenege" (even down to the "victim" being seated in a chair when the move is applied), the only difference being The Cobra Clutch Challenege went somewhere in a timely manner.

Yeah. The Bench Press is a good gauge of a person's strength, but 400 pounds isn't that impressive for a guy his size. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys on the roster that are not as big can attain 400 pounds.

as a black belt (ahem) i know for a fact that its easy to just hold your arms in a dodgy way and just slip out of it, but if youre talking about just using strength alone then i reckon that a good third of the roster could do it.

I honestly think Cena or Lashley can break it. They are strong boys

I see that you're a bodybuilding fan like me, based on your username anyway, cool. I would say that 400 lbs is indeed alot of weight, for someone natural anyway, which Masters is right now. It's always harder for taller people to have this huge squat or bench because of the longer limbs. Plus, he's a wrestler, meaning his rotator cuffs might not necessarily be injured, but ware and tear mabe. I think we loose perspective when we always fallow guys that bench 5 and 600 lbs, so much to the point that we begin to call it "normal", when it's actually quite strong. I have a friend who is a perfect example of this. My other friend who only works out a little was talking about how strong someone must be to squat 500 lbs. I didn't say anything, but my other friend was like, "Thats not that much man! there's people that squat 8-900 lbs, and in the NFL, there's people that squat 1000, 1100, and up to 1400 lbs man!" An exact quote. I'm a personal trainer, and although I understand, I wouldn't go telling someone that dosen't squat that he's not doing much because he can't do 1400 lbs, mabe I'm rambling on here, I'm just tired. I do think Masters is strong though, especially for a young guy, but he's more of a bodybuilder/wrestler than a power lifter.

I'd like to see someone break it and Master's arms fall off like in that old Saturday Night Live skit where they had the olympics where steroids and illegal drugs were allowed to be used

I highly doubt Master's is natural right now. And I would be ashamed of myself if I had 20 inch arms weighed 275 and only benched 400 pounds. If I were Master's I would've kayfabed the interviewer and claimed I did 630 or something.

If I were Master's I would've kayfabed the interviewer and claimed I did 630 or something. Legit 20 arms are huge, and he weighed 267 lbs at his peak. Now, he's about 250 lbs. It is extremely rare for a guy that's not on steroids to benchpress 500 lbs in the real world. I think that when he was at his peak, he probably could have done more. Chris Masters didn't lie in the interview, like so many people do, because he dosen't have a huge ego that goes along with his physique like others do. And remember, he's training for wrestling right now. he would be stronger if he devoted 100% of his life to just getting stronger, If he got 10 hours of sleep every day and wasn't on the road.

The day Masters assaults Stephanie. Then HHH will take a buzzsaw to Master's arms in the middle of the ring.
Until then, it cannot be broken.

My brother and i put it on each other all the time. It's pretty easy to just kick him in the nuts or slide out of it.
