DEBUT RATING FOR MTV WRESTLING SOCIETY X & MORE by Mike Johnson @ 5:20:00 PM on 1/31/2007The debut of MTV's Wrestling Society X last night scored a 1.0 rating. I haven't yet heard the audience share. That's a really impressive debut rating, especially considering it was running up against the second half of ECW on SciFi (which usually does around 1.5). In my opinion, WSX should send Vince McMahon flowers because the way he trash talked the original ECW and its fans likely only helped WSX's cause, specificially since it featured several former ECW regulars, tables, ladders, crazy highspots, explosions, etc., all things that would in theory attract former ECW fans that WWE doesn't provide for with their "revitalized" version of the company. Jack Evans will be appearing tonight to discuss WSX on www.InYourHeadOnline.com. The first edition of WSXtra is online now at www.WSX.MTV.com. Our own Richard Trionfo has his report up here on the main page of PWInsider.com. -PWInsider.com

I thought it would be real big, since it was MTV and all.
It'll probably be bigger next week since the debut was a repeat.

That is impressive. Maybe they'll get thirty minutes added to the show next season.

So is that good for MTV? Cant imagine they get huge ratings for reruns of Pimp My Ride (even though that shows awesome) and Next...

WSX was the most exciting wrestling program I've seen in years.

It could seriously help wrestling overall and bring wrestling back to the mainstream...

The Filth and the Fury theme song is Adrenaline Rush. Eat that, TNA!

Oh god... Its happening, its finally happening... Traditional wrestling for good or ill might well be taking a beating. We'll see if WSX can keep these ratings, or even grow on them. Might make Vince or Vince realise fans want to see action. The times... they need to be a changing...

As long as someone stabs the ring announcer to death, I'll keep watching. Seriously, that guy is super annoying.
Plus, I'm the biggest Vampiro mark in the universe (okay thats a hyperbole), so I have to watch him on it.

As long as someone stabs the ring announcer to death, I'll keep watching. Well, New Jack is part of the company.

Even if it does a 1.5, MTV barely promotes this show, and its a freakin repeat. I think this is very good for WSX.

Well, New Jack is part of the company. That'd make New Jack more popular than The Rock and Steve Austin combined. He's only on for that one show. Same with Puma, Credible, and that hick Jack fought.
