I first saw the phrase "jump the shark" a week ago. Now I'm seeing it every damn day. I don't even think people are using it correctly. They aren't.
Last time I checked, Jumping the Shark meant they had to do something really drastic and go downhill.
Beating Kane at every oppertunity isn't really desperate and Drastic.
It is when you basically take a character who has gone toe to toe with the Undertaker, and job him out to a character who absolutely sucks as bad as Umaga does. While AAE may be over like rover, just because of the way he introduces himself, Umaga is not. And after spending as much time as they did trying to establish Kane as the seven foot tall, psychopathic monster of Raw, only to have him get punked out in EVERY physical confrontation with Umaga, and then to end the feud with him doing NOTHING of value despite the fact that he's at least a hundred times more over and interesting than Umaga, yet losing every match to him?
Yeah, I'd call that drastic, and it certainly put Raw on the downhill slide. Look at who the hell they brought in last night: Freaking Khali, a guy who has NO purpose trying to cut a promo, and good grief, does anyone even know if he can actually TAKE a bump? I don't even remember him taking all that much damage in any of his matches, other than his encounter with The Undertaker at SNME. he didn't even compete in the friggin match that was supposed to be his specialty. Granted he was supposedly ill, but that still was a HUGE blow to the guy's credibility. he couldn't really get over on Smackdown, he damn sure wasn't over on ECW, and they think putting him on Raw is the answer? Puh-lease.
