Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay's team has been named the Knock-Out/Tap-Out Connection in ECW. I think the name is a knock off on the legacy of Kurt Angle (as he was the one who made the tap-out famous). Burke is a decent wrestler and Terkay is nothing compared to Angle, Terkay is a good brawler and his submission move is one of the lamest in the business. I hate the new name ECW creative have given to a decent tag team of Burke and Terkay.

As much as I hate to say it, I really like the name. Sure, it doesn't roll off the tongue like other team names do, but it isn't too bad. But I really, really, really hate Terkay. Burke has a future with the company, but as long as he drops Terkay.

Yeah, I doubt that statement. He sure said the phrase a lot and he made people do it, but then again, so did Ken Shamrock. And what about the "knock out" part? Do you think they're ripping off Mike Tyson or Tank Abbot?

I dig the name and the team, even though it's a little wordy.

Ken Shamrock was a good wrestler but is nowhere near Angle when it comes to popularity and about the Knock Out part, I never said they are ripping somebody, its just because Burke was an amateur boxer and thats the reason they must have used it. I think they are ripping Angle on that Tap-Out part is because Angle is in TNA and Vince hates him for that.

Wasn't the whole concept of tapping-out made to help get Shamrock over?

Well, they also chanted "You Tapped Out" at Triple H after Benoit made him tap out at WM XX. So you can throw in Benoit with Shamrock and Angle as the guys who made tapping out a household name...if it is a household name, that is.

Dude, Benoit didnt have the gimmick of a a tough shoot fighter like Angle did, the tap out stuff was a part of Angle's gimmick and thats the whole thing. And I believe Angle is the one whose the prime factor in the Tap-Out chanting rather than Benoit. It seems you're getting the whole point wrong.

Yeah...thats why he used to walk around in a t shirt that said tap out on it before Shamrock even debuted in WWF. And no it wasn't the tapout clothing company. It was a black shirt, with orange letters made specifically by ECW for Taz.I guess they just made it because Pass Out isnt as catchy. A bit of it can be seen below. As far as Maeda goes, Puro refrences are all well and good for you, but he can hardly be credited with "making tapping out famous" stateside when next to nobody here knows who he is. Just cause you and I do doesn't mean it's famous.

It's definitely not a rip on Kurt Angle. Why does everything have to be a rip on Kurt Angle. What is this, TNA. They're not constantly ripping on the other guy.
It's a good name though. Sadly there is no tag team division to establish them.
