Since some believe HBK was talking about the Rock last night, I ask - is it just jealousy, or do they have a point?
I mean...the guy actually has a pretty successful film career now. He's making money and he's pretty much moved past the wrestling thing in many people's eyes.
If he'd gone the Brock route - leaving to do something else but being a complete failure at it - I can see the criticism being valid. But is it just petty if someone like HBK or HHH or Undertaker or Hogan (well, in that instance it'd totally be petty) or anybody were to make fun of him for doing "his time" and then leaving to succeed at something else?

Whatevah Rock is more successful then HBK or HHH In wrestling? Thats funny since HHH is a 10 time champ and will run the WWE one day, and HBK has been a main event level player since 1995. Rock had 3 years on top and dissapeared. Sure, he's more "mainstream successful", but neither HHH or HBK have tried to make a name outside of wrestling........yet.

This is just like VKM on HHH and HBK. Petty insults that the person being insulted shouldn't even give a damn about.

Rock won the WWE title more then anyone else. In that short time he was more entertaining then HBK and HHH. He may not be as technically sound as either but he is definitely more entertaining and MANY more people know who the Rock is then (Probably) HHH and HBK combined (Definitely more well known then both seperately) Rock is mainstream. HHH And HBK are definitely not

So apparently we've all developed psychic powers and know for certain what he's talking about. Not like he could've been talking about Brock Lesnar or anything.

Joke aside, I'm just saying everyone's like "HMMMZZZZ, who could he be talking about?"
"Could it be Brock Lesnar? That guy had a massive ego and left the E cause of it and then vanished to Japan, which as far as the WWE is concerned is vanishing off the face of the earth"
"Could it be Kurt Angle? TNA is also a place the WWE doesn't speak of"
"No it can't be those two, it has to be The Rock. Of course the WWE would go after the guy who left the company on good terms, rather than those other 2"

Lesnar is a possibility. Angle, no, because HBK said its someone he's still waiting to face. CM Punk....I doubt. WWE is intent on pushing him, and HHH and HBK teamed with him a little over a month ago. No reason to "shoot" on him.

True, but with Kurt he could've been saying that Angle really wasn't that special, which Kurt has said somebody said to him backstage (in one of those many post-WWE interview things), but again it's Kurt who at this point needs to be considered a shaky source.

I think HBK said this so message boards would be filled about who it could be
Seriously, why else would he say some random crap (What exactly did he say anyways) that only pro wrestling nerds would talk about

Well I wouldn't say he dissapeared, just that he made more money in movies, I don't blame him, he was one of WWE's top stars, why should he kill himself in the ring for fans now? I know him and Rock don't see eye-to-eye, but the guy was a good talent for WWE and drew a lot for them, more than HBK/HHH ever could.

Because without those fans, he'd still be some schmuck with bad hair. And lets face it, with the style Rock wrestled, he was hardly "killing himself". You know, I cant stand Bret Hart. Never could, never will. But I can possibly see why people are still fans of his. But the one thing I'll NEVER understand is there are still Rock marks in 2007. Not an insult, mind you, merely an observation. I wonder if any of you are the same people b****ing non-stop in the early 2000's about how stale he was, the same complaints I see now about Cena.

Rock is probably one of if not the best on the mic. His matches were entertaining. Different tastes I guess but I never saw a Rock promo I didn't like (After his Maivia days)

Even better, I figure in wrestling the goal is to make money, not hurt yourself, so if Rock came away with less injuries than his fellow wrestlers, then so be it. I agree without the fans, he'd be nothing, but that could be said for most of the roster, still why should he continue to wrestle if he doesn't need to? I wouldn't mind seeing him wrestle again, but it's not like he's under any obligation to do so. As for Rock in 2000, it didn't really start till his feud with Rikishi when I started to grow a bit tired of the Rock, but the guy was able to captivate an audience like no other, probably Austin/Hogan, but that's it.
