The most bitter mothersmurfer in the history of Western Civilization. You're not thinking of Taz from when he wrestled in ECW?

No, he wasn't bitter.
Certain members of the IWC mention how bitter Bret is far more often than Bret will ever speak about Montreal or Owen in his lifetime. It's mostly a creation of the IWC.

I actually thought he was going to be the one that blew up Vince's Limo, and would manage the Hart Foundation 2.0 as a heel stable (Anvil might have shown up as well).
I think he felt bitter and deeply hurt by the screw job, but I think when he agreed to the dvd, and started reminiscing, he realized that in the end Vince did what he thought he had to. While it was hurtful, Bret got a descent payday from Turner, and he's had years to let the situation cool down.
I think he's more lonely in a very deep sort of way. Think about Owen, Bulldog, Divorce, Stu, Martha, and Stroke, all in such a short time span. So much sorrow that a simple (albeit BAD) career move by one's boss can fade ten years down the line.

I don't think Bret's that bitter about Montreal anymore, what I believe he is still bitter for is the death of Owen, and can you blame him? He stated in interviews many years ago that he didn't really care about Montreal, but what happened with Owen was obviously a huge issue to him. Can anyone really argue that Bret shouldn't be incredibly pissed at Vince for what happened with his brother?

i think he is bitter for a different reason i honestly think that bret knew and vince made a deal. much like pillman and bischoff. vince and bret and shawn had a deal. they create this huge controversy, bret goes to wcw and a fat contract. had bret not gotten another concussion(and a motorcycle injury and a stroke) when wcw folds and it did, bret goes back to wwf. now can we all think that maybe ric flair was a put in the consortium position because bret was out of wrestling? but being a student of the game(not the dummy hhh) he has to work this bitter angle for the rest of whereever. seriously have we ever seen bret break kayfabe on an angle?

I honestly can't pick any one of those choices. At the Hall of Fame ceremony he seemed very gracious and very fond of his good days. At other times he does come off as bitter about how it all ended. I suppose like any of us he has different moods on different days.

I think the fans were bitter, and assumed Bret would be bitter as well. They also bought his whiner gimmick on TV. How could he NOT be bitter?
