I liked this title but it never made sense to me if there was already an Intercontinental Championship.

I liked this title but it never made sense to me if there was already an Intercontinental Championship. Yeah but then the IC wouldn't make sense as the World champ is already champ of those parts too. Is that an Irish flag on there? It looks like there is 3 Italian flags on one & 4 on the other.

Wait a sec... is that the flag of Åland on the belt? I think it is! ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/40/Flag_of_Aaland.svg/125px-Flag_of_Aaland.svg.png) It's not even a country, it's an autonomous province of Finland. My guess is that they just decided to put a random Scandinavian flag on the belt.

Nice looking belt, but pointless title.
If they needed another midcard title, the "WWE Television Championship" would have made more sense.

Subtopic: Favourite European Champion.
I liked D'Lo but I think Al Snow wins for comedy reasons.

I liked Europe's Al Snow and I was a big fan of Eurocontinental Champion Kurt Angle.

Nice looking belt, but pointless title. If they needed another midcard title, the "WWE Television Championship" would have made more sense. Probably. Once it started being defended on U.S. shows the name didn't make much sense. But I thought it had a point from 1997-2000, as something for lower carders to lower midcarders to wrestle for. It's just when people started having long runs with it where it would barely get defended that the title became useless. They should have used it as a title for Sunday Night Heat wrestlers or something.

They should've kept it for SD instead of bringing back the US Title.

Nice looking belt, but pointless title. Pointless? Well, besides being the enticement for Davey Boy Smith to resign in 1997, then...yeah. Nice looking belt, though. Muuuuch nicer than the current IC belt and US belt.

Muuuuch nicer than the current IC belt and US belt. Truth all around on that one good man. The title to me was just for comedy after bulldog had lost it, everyone who had it had funny Home Towns with it and it was just fun to HEAR their entrances. My personal favorite was D-Lo, dammit I miss him a lot.

Wow, I seriously had no recollection of what that thing looked like anymore. The European title, huh? D-Lo is the first thing to pop in my head. Back when he had the chest protector gimmick or whatever.

Anyone else get freaked out by the way he would shake his head on route to the ring? Swear to god his head looked like it'd flap right off one day.

It was the high class Hardcore Title, really.
Which means I liked it a lot.

Wasn't the European title created simply for Davey Boy Smith to tour Europe and own that market?
Thing is, would have loved for a real WWE belt be created for non-American wrestlers....with Finlay, Regal, Santino, and others duking it out.

I think I read somehwere it was just going to be for European tours, but that plan was nixed due to The Monday Night Wars, I don't think that's really the case though
But who knows
