All PPVs are tri-branded. Which explains why the first tri-branded PPV got a disappointing buyrate, right? Ok fine, we'll do it your way. If we use the "main event is the only reason people order a PPV theory", then HBK, Edge, and Randy Orton are not draws. If we go based on what the top-teir title matches were alone, then Batista and Undertaker are not draws as well. Of course, maybe it was that clusterschmazz involving Umaga, Shane, Vince, and Lashley that drove things down, but how would that make sense really given who the other people in world title matches were.

Khali being champ makes sense. Him being booked as an unstoppable monster makes sense. The WWE won't care as much if people actively boo him during his live matches, because his main job is to simply be the unstoppable monster. Being the unstoppable monster will make people watch, because they would have wanted to see how Cena could possibly retain against him. They will want to see the face eventually over come him, and whoever does will do so to huge pop and get a big rub from being the guy to beat Khali. They are thinking long term when they have Khali sqaush people, not just to get boos, although it would be nice, Khali's main job will all be to build up the guy that eventually beats him.
It's the same with John Morrison. People wouldn't actively go out of their way to boo him during his entrance, but he was still doing his job well, because people really wanted to see Punk with the title and not him, and as such popped huge when he lost. It's a different kind of heel to the unstoppable monster, he probably plays the more annoying, arrogant type, but he still does his job.

It's not punishment it's story telling.
Jeff is over and like you said probabbly the second most over face. That's why he was fed to Khali. Because he's Raw's Rey Mysterio in both size and style. That match happened to get people to say OMG what's gonna happen to poor little Rey-Rey. Watch SD friday there going to show that clip a hundred times and Coles gonna point that out ad infinitum.

Hardy being squashed doesn't really mean anything bad for him though cause he will still continue to be over. Its just really to make Khali look more impressive. Exactly. Both Hardys could lose to anyone on the roster and still be mega-over.

Both Hardys could lose to anyone on the roster and still be mega-over. Yeah, they fed Matt to Khali before WM and it did not affect his overness. Hell, they had some interaction during that battle royal for the two final draft picks, with Matt taking the worst of it (though Khali did not completely no-sell for him like he does for most midcarders) and in the end the crowd was still really hot for Matt.

also, probably did not want to jerk off the net kiddies too much Do people really think the WWE writes around smarks? I think the only one who really gives a shit about them is Russo. And maybe Heyman. Either way, they should have made it like his ladder match with Taker. If there was ANY time to establish Hardy as a MEer, it was after that match where Taker made him look like a pro, even in defeat.
