The man no longer gets pops.
One of my favorite superstars of all time, who was once one of the biggest WWE stars, now gets near zero reaction when he comes out.
Shame on you, wrestling fans, for not appreciating Mick Foley.
Shame on you, WWE, for booking Mick so terribly whenever he's done a stint after his retirement.

it was the ecw storyline
he's not had a real chance to have a big face turn moment for awhile

Yeah, the ECW storyline really killed his character. I am and will forever be a Foley fan, but I think he's kinda worn out his welcome and really doesn't have anything to offer anymore. At one point he could have been used as a person to put people over, kinda like he did with Edge and Randy Orton, but a victory over Foley doesn't really mean anything anymore. Even when Edge defeated him at Wrestlemania it didn't really mean as much as it would have a few years earlier.

I hope Mick takes it as a warning. Unlike Hogan Or even The Rock, he has failed to protect his character nor the aura surrounding it. As a big Foley mark it was saddening but predictable he eventually got almost no pop at all.

Most wrestling fans today are young and/or ignorant. They likely barely know who he is by now. Same thing is happening with Austin, it's just a sign of the times I guess.

I think the Foley/Flair storyline hurt more than the ECW one. Especially since it involved his close personal friend Melina.

I appreciate the living f*** out of Mick Foley. I really do. It's just that, from a booking standpoint, there's nothing about him to get terribly excited about. He comes back every so often and, yes, it's good to see him again, but, since Wrestlemania 22, he's not doing anything worth getting worked up over. That's just my opinion, though, I didn't know he was going to put on such an awesome match. Nobody did, so why would they get worked up over it?

At least with Austin he still gets a considerable amount of cheers. Foley's has essentially died out and things such as the ECW and him willingly kissing Vince's ass didn't help things.

f*** Mick Foley. It's about damn time people get sick and tired of his bullshit. he is the biggest waste. Get the f*** off my tv ya fat bastard! I for one am happy, maybe the WWE will see this and not bring him back for a long long time. He adds NOTHING to the show. Now if he would only take Stone Cold with him.
Let the bells ring as the world is sick of Mick Foley! It's about goddamn time!

The best thing to happen to him was his couple of years away from the company. Maybe they shouldn't be using him for a little while, and then not bring him back until possibly HOF-ing him.

Nah I'm cool as could be. I just find it really funny that people are getting as sick of Foley as I am. If anyone is crying or having "a little butthurt" it's all of those who are bitching that Foley was being basically ignored. I hope it's taken as a hint for him to leave for a while. What does Foley add to the "E" right now? Nothing.

I still love Foley, having watched KOTDM recenrlt it's as strong as ever for me. I've accepted that he's old dlelabitated, and has moved on with his life.

It's not surprising really. WWE present day is totally different from 90's WWF. Most of the people who cheered Foley back then have moved on and today's fans (teenage girls & kids) don't know much about him.
I see that happening to Austin eventually. As WWE continue to distance themselves from what made them big in the '90's - early this decade. They'll continue down this more kiddie friendly road featuring uber-good and bad guys like Cena & Orton as long as they possibly can.
