In my experience most of the people that rip on Santino are Austin marks that refuse to let go of the fact that the man is done......
Then they get all pissy and "Santino sucks" and should be fired because he happens to be making fun of Austin. Then they go into how it's not funny and he sucks. It's quite comical in itself really.

another example of letting wrestlers finding something that works, and letting the fans tell you if its good or not, instead of having the writing team shoving CRAP down our throats week after week.

Santino is so good that when neither Stone Cold nor Y2J came out to confront him my suicidal disappointment subsided. He's just too damned funny.
By the way, anyone else catch this... His swipe at Maria being dumb enough to believe in the Loch Ness Monster & Bigfoot? Last week in Pennsylvania, someone captures a couple of photos of what may be baby Bigfeet. Littlefeet.
And then that line about Tom Hanks with "the AIDS" was priceless.
Having him mouth along with his own Stone Cold impression?--brilliant.
Whoever writes for him needs a special award.

Santino has completely grown on me. I was a closet Santino fan for the longest time, now I am happy to embrace my fandom. He's freakin hillarious and I can't stop laughing when he's on the mic. What she said. |

My question is - was this whole Santino heel character planned from the begining?
His cheesy debut from out of the crowd in Italy, his undeserved winning of the I.C. title in his first match, his super generic gimmick, his winning matches with the ultra generic inside cradle. It's like they were doing everything possible to make the fans to turn on him. It's almost like the Rocky Maivia/The Rock transformation, only done on purpose and at an accelerated speed.
Now as a heel one of his main bragging points is that he's a former I.C. champion. And with the extremely cheap way he won the title (basically having Bobby Lashley win it for him) it just further looks like the WWE had his heel turn planned out from the begining.
