I guess it was JBL while he was feuding with Rey Misterio. I still liked Orton, since I knew that "Eddie is in Hell" stuff clearly came off the drugged minds of the inbred monkeys that write WWE stuff, but JBL really was a perfect guy to play a xenophobe, arrogant, ignorant, rich prick.
I think JBL is really an astonishing heel. He basically plays the role of the "evil foreigner" for everyone NOT from the U.S.. And THAT'S what really surprised me. An American wrestling company would have a heel that is the prototype of the Texan Cowboy douchebag. If WWE was German or French I clearly would have said that the JBL character is a shot at George Bush. Doing a Nazi salute in Munich pretty much emphasized his heel heat. Unfortunately it is against the law here in Germany.
However, I would say JBL worked perfectly as a heel in the classic sense for me and I really marked when Rey Misterio beat him, although I expected Rey to go over, but JBL's heelishness awakened the little mark in me that would have really been f***ing pissed off if Rey lost to him.

CM Punk's "I'm taking the belt with me" angle towards the end of his ROH stint made me want him dead, only to then realize how awesome it was that he just screwed with my emotions, despite the fact that i am a self professed "smart" to the business. and watching the johnny jeter stuff from OVW, he is really hatable. but in terms of wwe, i thin krandy orton has been really evil lately.

Most of the stuff Low Ki and Homicide do in ROH really get me mad. True heel greatness.

I'd probably go with Hogan in the late 90's in WCW. I can't really think of many that I hated for the right reasons. Most of the heels I don't like aren't because they're heels...they just bore the crap out of me.
At least with Hogan I actually wanted to see anyone kick his ass and take the belt off him.

I hate the Miz
I really can't tell if it's because he's doing a good job, or because he just sucks. There's just something really hateable about him

This thread makes me smile because I just realised that the last heel I hated for being a heel was Rick Rude when he was feuding with the Ultimate Warrior. Ah, good times.

Probably Trips first big run as a top heel in 99. Agreed, I hated that son of a bitch.

Probably Trips first big run as a top heel in 99. Agreed, I hated that son of a bitch. also agreed, I was a huge Rock mark (probably the only guy I marked harder for in my life was Steamboat) so HHH was constantly getting on my nerves, I hated him completely. Now I want that HHH back lol

I really didn't like Vince Russo when he was in WCW after his "Powers that Be" character. I usually cheer for most heels though.

Oh God...I was 12 years old when HHH pedigreed X-Pac @ WM15, and I was literally almost in tears. Needless to say there was hatred in my heart

I don't think I really hated anyone with one exception. I hated Shawn Michaels so much when he was feuding with Bret Hart. He would go and put the Canadian flag up his nose and stuff and as a young tyke I wanted Hart to kill him so bad.

Judging by the responses on this thread, JBL turned out to be a great heel. He turned X-pac heat into genuine heel heat which is something not many can do(while retaining the heel allignment).

As much as I find him hilarious, I can't wait to see Santino Marella get his ass kicked by Austin.
Same with MVP and Matt Hardy, though both are probably my favorite wrestlers on SmackDown.
Orton's also doing a good job of being a heel that's worth hating.

I hated HHH (circa 2002-2005 WHC and evoultion runs) because no one could ever seem to beat him and he was just getting stale. Sure he got beat a few times by other people, but those title reigns lasted 1 month(HBK), 1 month(Goldberg), and about 6 months (Benoit). You just couldnt seem to get the belt off the bastard.
