Considering the Writers Guild of America is now on strike and most TV shows are basically screwed for the foreseeable future, I have to wonder if any of the WWE writers (who mostly tend to be from other mediums of entertainment) are affected and thus not working themselves...
There are those who probably aren't part of the WGA (like Dusty and Stephanie and other former wrestlers) but some, like Lagana and others, might be...

Nope, they hire non-union writers. Union's a dirty word in the WWE and since unions like SAG don't usually allow wrestlers into their club, I doubt the WGA would take in wrestling writers

Well done Vince. Hiring non-union workers is the way forward. However........seen as a lot of the WWE wrestlers are former TV writers, one would assume that they could go on strike if they kept up their membership dues. Although that would just lead to Vince, Steph, Doc Hayes etc. writing the shows alone cos there is no way Vince would just stop production like the writers have forced great shows like Heroes to do

I mean, let's just have HHH and Steph book the whole show instead of having writers make up angles and so-forth. I mean, hell with it, right? TEH WWE IS TEH SUXORRZZZZZ anyway, right? So tell me.. please..how would the WWE having no writers be a good thing?

He was eager to get in because of the health package or something like that. If you've had a few lines in a tv show, I think you can join. They can't refuse anyone. In fact any wrestler who's had a few film/tv roles probably is in there (Austin,Stacy Keibler, DDP, Nash)

Slightly off topic, but does anyone think that now most shows on tv will be reruns, that WWE programing might get a slight jump in the ratings?

When there's nothing else on, Raw always gets good ratings. That's why ratings are generally better in January to August or so (No MNF).

Honestly, I have to give the WWE creative staff at least a little bit of credit, because despite what we all may seem to think, I'm sure it's not that simple to write a show each and every week. I know I couldn't do it.

Yeah, I've worked at a few places in which saying the word "union" in front of the wrong person will get you terminated.

In fact any wrestler who's had a few film/tv roles probably is in there (Austin,Stacy Keibler, DDP, Nash) I think, though, you have to keep up some sort of minimum amount of work. A problem with writers and actors way down on the totem pole of income/exposure is that they run the regular risk of being tossed out of the union because they aren't working enough to warrant getting the coverage the WGA and SAG provide.
