Not sure where to put this but since Last time we saw bret was with WWe not too long ago, and he'll never work with TnA or Indies anytime soon, and all the hart talk with DH and Teddy, I thought this might be okay here. -----------------------------
-- During an interview with Vancouver 24 this weekend, former WWE champion Bret Hart discussed how steroids helped save his career. Hart was quoted as saying "I credit steroids for saving my career back then. Having taken them, I don't have any regrets and I'm sure I wouldn't be here if I hadn't taken those shots." The interview was putting over Hart’s new autobiography, "Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling."

Bret Hart rules, simply for the fact he has absolutely no fear of saying whatever he feels.

Bret Hart rules, simply for the fact he has absolutely no fear of saying whatever he feels. He's like the oldest chick from the Golden Girls. The Stroke must destroyed the part of his brain that keeps him from caring about what anyone thinks about what he says.

Better admitting it and being open and honest than denying the evidence of facts.
Steroids and pro-wrestling (at high level) are like bread and butter. Sweeping the truth under the rug won't make it go away.

I'm still not convinced steroids are necessarily a bad thing in the wrestling industry, if used responsively. They really are a miracle drug.
Sure, it's not a healthy thing to do, but neither is fattening up for sumo wrestling.
I'm no doctor. But my impression is that most wrestling deaths have been the result of overall unhealthiness, of which steroids is small part, but also includes other drugs, poor diet, alcohol, etc.

The problem is, people tend to abuse them.

Most of the negative image Steroids have come from the government and groups with agendas.
Not saying steroids are the smartest thing in the world to do. But theirs lots of "Reefer Madness" surrounding them.
The fact that Chris Benoit had the brain of an 85 year old man, was largely ignored by the mass media proves this.

Steroids will always be a part of wrestling. They are very useful after serious injuries (just ask Edge, Triple H and Kurt Angle). The problem is where does one draw the line between whether it's being used to heal or being used to gain an advantage over everyone else?

I have nothing morally against steroids. But I think you have to be pretty dumb to do them, when your employer tests for them.

Steriods = death; either slow or fast. Saying that steroids have gotten rap is naive at best.

While I do agree that there is a line between use and abuse, I do not condone steroid use. Whether or not Bret regrets using steroids is irrelevant. To be honest, I thought he was going to say that steroids saved his career in the context of the steroid trials of the early 90s being one of the reasons for his singles push. I never thought that he used.

Doctors prescribe steroids to people after certain surgeries. Using steroids for a short amount of time won't kill you. Cycling for years just for the sake of staying massive could.
