He did seem ballsy in that respect. Not at all intimidated. Indeed. Especially the part where he dropped and stepped on the DVD. Santino has no fear! He's about subtlety. He could of jumped up and down and over played it to the max, But he just ground it under his foot and kicked it away. As a lifelong Piper fan, I tink the comparisons are valid.

P.S. Anyone else wish Austin aimed for Maria's dress straps a little more? ;0 That is wrong! Austin should've aimed lower under Maria's dress so that it blows up and you see Maria's...well you get the idea. ;D Beer battered clam?

Both men were good on the mic, but the issue here is that Santino is a fresh new character who has been stepping up his mic work tremendously, and is taking what should rightfully be the "generic stereotype", and he is really making this gimmick work.
Steve Austin on the other hand has not had any sort of character development whatsoever since 2000, and he is basically just coming out, saying his catch phrases, doing his single trademark move, and that's basically it. I like Austin too, but I just am fully aware that he is there strictly as a throwback to the glory days of the Attitude era and he brings nothing new to the table.

I don't think it's the end of their feud.

I'm sick of Austin. Every appearence now is just stunner-fest --> beerbash. He's never going to wrestle again. The heel will always be made a chump. I'm sick of being sold that a guy with a bad neck and two bad knees is such a "badass."

santino needs to go over austin now, either in an actual match or by cheap shotting him somehow. thats what will take his character to the next level. can you imagine the cockiness he'll exude if this happens?
on the other hand, i feel if he never gets the rub, where does he go? does he go from star to star, mocking them, and getting his ass kicked? that'll get old fast.

If you had said 2002 I would have agreed with you, but you're just blatantly ignoring an awesome heel run, the two man power trip, the hugging Vince, that What?, the 'Do you hear what my watch is saying?, the Paranoid Rattlesnake, etc etc. 2001 was some of the most character development he has had since he won King of the Ring IMO.

I thought Austin was great on the mic, but everyone's gonna be biased.

Hmmm... I must have gotten the year wrong. I was in fact referring to the whole "What" phase as the last point where his character changed... but it was 2002 and not 2000. It's all coming back to me now, as I remember the What stuff happening in the midst of the Alliance. For some reason I was thinking it was earlier....

I've noticed he's getting over with the crowd. Something he could never have done as a face(his debut where he won the IC title and got that one night ovation dosen't count).

I don't know, Piper's heel run was like that. It was great. Santino really needs a talk show.

IMO. Steve Austin > Santino I would go Santino = SCSA. I just hope they don't screw it up and turn him heel.

I just loved that while Austin was getting on him for misquoting him, Santino did it again by calling him "Cone Stold" (or at least, that's what I thought he said).

I thought he called him Cold Stone like the Ice Cream place, and me and my wife agree that Santino was in rare form and SCSA was also in rare form but his was of a bad degree.

Austin seemed bored and really bland this time. Maybe should go away and do something else so he doesen't completely kill my memories of him. Santino, on the other hand, carried the segment right down to slipping on the beer.
