I still like benoit but to make excuses as to why he killed a little boy and his wife is smurfing lame guys was agreat wrestler and a murderer  What is with the smily face? And I am sure a lot of people would take you more seriously, if you took 3 seconds to spell check your posts. I'm not flaming you, I'm bringing something to your attention. And I am not the Post Police, everyone makes mistakes. But the majority of your posts look like a cat walked on the keyboard and pressed 'Post Reply". Anyways, it would have been epic, seriously. I waited for thet match for years, and it was within my grasp and then it was gone. Benoit is still my favorite worker. I just try to remember all the good he did for me and other people, and leave out his last days. Too much is involved in that, and I'd rather just remember him on a nice note. |

Let's not get into the morality debate again.
It's a shame that what happened happened, I would have loved to see that series and it would have boosted Punk's WWE credibility. His feud with Morrison took a while to get really good.

Yeah I think it woudl've given Punk a nice rub. Still, his matches with Morrison have all been pretty good, some great depite the stupid endings (Punk jobbing to a kick to the knee, Morrison using the ropes at SummerSlam).

I think Morrison deserves serious credit for how he's handled the situation that he ended up being thrust in to. All of the matches between he and Punk have been excellent. He's established himself as a legit presence on the roster. And despite the fact that the feud was never planned, it has become one of the better, if not the best, high profile feud this year. And it's all about wrestling.

I should've asked that we not speak of Benoit's actions and focus more on how awesome this rivalry would've been when you stop and think about it. Whether you like Benoit or not is a different argument for a different thread.

I think Punk would be a face just like he is now and Benoit would take a role as 'veteran/mentor', possibly pulling some heel tactics at times but not really turning 100% heel. I think this rivalry would've been WWE's answer to TNA's Angle/Joe rivalry, except it would've embarassed TNA because this would've actually been booked the right way. This was the closest WWE would've been to being like ROH in my opinion.
