thank god someone else hated morrison and miz on commentary! To be fair, I hated hated HATED (in the Roger Ebert sense) Morrison's commentary, and got a sick pleasure out of The Miz running him down on the mic. Looking back on it it was probably the worst match commentary since Morrision mumbled his way through a random CM Punk match a couple weeks back, and it really was just more or less a petty schoolyard arguement between them. instead of talking about a rather excellent match. Didn't help they kept cutting from the action back to Miz and Morrison. i didnt even really see it as miz running down morrison. like i stated in my thread about the commentary, it just consisted of both of them saying the same thing over and over again. the only way i could see it as anyone being run down was if you could say morrison ran himself down... he made himself look foolish and dumb when he's supposed to be this cool 7's rock star... all he had was catchphrases and the same line "it's going to be another victory for [insert nickname here]... all miz did was repeat that morrison lost to a hat and then he let morrison run himself down... neither one of them looked better when they were done... and it didnt make me want to see the match any more than before. example of good commentary... Austin. when austin would do the rare commentary, he would manage to get himself over, and hype the feud... made you really want to see it when he talked so passionately about it. he also would get his opponant over. most of his commentary would include him saying how talented his opponant was in the ring... now thats great guest commentary!

Quite right. Certainly a lot better than John Morrision: Blah blah don't care about CM Punk blah blah big game blah blah I can defeat Miz The Miz: You lost to a hat. I don't know what the idea of putting the two of them on the mic during the match was going to accomplish. Certainly wasn't going to get the match over.

Ok. I know PWInsider is generally good with what they report but as I said I'm pretty much skeptical of all newz nowadays. Especially because I've been having a lot of suspicions of companies having "leaks" deliberately in some instances. True. Maybe this will lead to every match ending in a screwjob at SS.

Every match can be ended with the bell ringing while someone is in standard holds that people never submit to, followed by Vince picking up a mic and saying "HAHA, MONTREAL! REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE? REMEMBER?" *rimshot* Next match, he'll come out and say the exact same thing.

Eh, I always got the impression Miz is likely respectful backstage due to his lack of experience. Yeah, from what I've heard (surprisingly), Miz does have a heart for the business, he's just really inexperienced. I can tell you from personally talking to the guy that he geniunely loves the business. He's apparently a huge mark for the Ultimate Warrior, too.

If this is true, then both men are to blame. I will judge how Morrisson and The Miz do on commentary and in the ring on Smackdown myself. If they did in fact do a bad job, then yeah, they deserved a reprimand for it. However, we have all heard the rumors of JBL being a little vindictive when it comes to younger talent. Who is not to say that he spoke down to the two of them with a smug, superior attitude that enraged Morrisson? One can also make a solid case for Morrisson getting ticked because he was being yelled at for just doing what he was told to do. Simply put, over-reaction by both parties.

That's what most of these "Backstage confrontations" come down to. Guy A says something that Guy B should either just listen to and move on from, or just blow off entirely, but instead, Guy B gets in Guy A's face, and neither guy is gonna back down because apparently the locker room is one big immature frat house, so it ends in stupid immature crap like this.

It seems that because of that, he has been put in the ring with people like Punk, Matt Hardy, etc., who can help him develop as opposed to the Holly's of the world that might set him on the right path eventually, but in a far less pleasant manner.

I shouldn't have read that. Now, SmackDown! is going to be a little ruined for me. As for JBL VS Morrison, I hope this exchange happened: JBL: DON'T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!!! I AM A WRESTLING GOD!!!! John Morrison: OH YEAH! WELL, I AM THE LIZARD KING!!!! JBL: "Wrestling gawd!" Morrison: "Lizard King!" JBL: "Wrestling gawd!" Morrison: "Lizard King!" JBL: "Wrestling gawd!" Morrison: "Lizard King!" JBL: "WRESTLING GAWD!" Morrison: "LIZARD KING!" JBL: "That's it! *takes action figures and goes home*" Props to you for making my thing much better.

The thing about the Miz is that most people just assume that he walked off the Real World onto Tough Enough IV, then got a contract. They don't know about his work for a good two or three years on the indy circuit before he even got close to the WWE.

plus as we all know, JBL in straight up backstage fights does not fare so well at times (being taken out by one kick from Steve Blackman, for example). Dude Steve Blackman is a legit black belt, how dare you Underrate the Lethal Weapon. I think it was Morrison's "Kung Fu Jesus" making JBL mad since he's the Wrestling god and all. but yeah i could see this happening.

Wrestling's backstage environment strikes me as being a lot like the underground rap scene. It is a very macho environment where ego and pride all too often take precedence. So many of the boys backstage dislike the idea of being criticized or corrected because they feel it makes them look bad in front of the rest of the crew. So of course, they have to come back at it ten times over, which just leads to even more problems. Really, some guys just need to learn to swallow their pride and take it easy.

Ok. I am not immediately going to say this is true, in fact I'm a bit surprised since from what one usually hears about Morrision he's a bit more laid-back backstage and the reason he got pushed around brands was more because of the fact he was dating Melina who was the problem child (as it were). However, JBL giving a business-view heads-up doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility. Plus as we all know, JBL in straight up backstage fights does not fare so well at times (being taken out by one kick from Steve Blackman, for example) So yeah, 50-50 I guess. And I'll definetely have to see this Friday's tag title match to see if Mizerson's ring work was "good" or not. True, not to mention the fact we've been getting burned with fake reports and fake spoiler results lately. We don't even know if they really won the belts. The title change did happen. Here is a quick report of the results from one of the most credible wrestling news sites out there... www.wrestleview.com/news2006/1195025267.shtmlWrestleview.com is 99% credible and when the do report something that is wrong, they report a correction within 2 hours of the time they find out its incorrect. However this story with JBL and Morrison is not up on there yet. (The last update was last night.)
