Question about wrestler's names

Pretty much my rule of thumb is to call a wrestler whatever he tends to refer to himself as around fans. On Lance Storm's website, he refers to himself as Lance Storm. Conversely here on the WC forum, Earthquake's forum was always called the "John Tenta forum", which indicated that it was OK to call him that. Of course he always signed his posts and PM's as simply Quake, so I called him Quake.

Hey, I bet it beats the "You screwed Bret" remarks he's heard for the past 10+ years.

I'd pay for someone to do that and post it on youtube. Not that I have anything against Shawn, I'd just love to hear that and see Shawn's reaction.

I usually go with the ring name all the time. If I ever met The Undertaker, I'd probably call him Taker to save time.

i wouldn't try calling them by their real names. i'm not completely sure why, but they find it REALLY disrespectful. i suppose it's a way of seperating their private lives from what you see on screen. but i think it's just a matter of "that's what i wanna be called". if i told a complete stranger to call me bill, and they went out, did some research and found out my real name, calling me"tom", it probably would be a bit rude.

Often times wrestlers refer to other wrestlers by their ring names. Mick Foley still gets called "Cactus" a lot by other wrestlers. I wonder if it bothered him that I asked him to sign my Raw magazine as "Cactus Jack" after all it was a picture of him as cactus before he even entered the WWF
