uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QHeKjAQP-Dg&feature=relatedWow... I remember watching this live. It was so disappointing... They had hyped the hell out of this match, then 90% of it was just Goldberg and Lesnar standing around... I lost all kinds of respect for Brock after this...

WWE knew fully well they were going to get booed, which is probably why they booked them in the most boring match imaginable.

I always saw it as Both knew that this was their last match, and neither wanted to potentially hurt themselves for their post WWE ventures......so, we got a Pu$$yfoot match that the crowd justly crapped on.

Regardless of what happened, the match is still memorable, even if for the wrong reasons.

that was notiously one of the worst matches I remember in wrestlemania history. i have always said, that if brock really wanted to stick it to use and put on a lousy match, he should have taken the spear, jack hammer, pin. then at least i could have remember goldberg in a nice way

I guess I was one of the only people that actually respected the match for its in match psychology. It was different, imo because Lesnar and Goldberg respected each others strength so they were timid to start off going at the other person like a bull.
We then had some big power moves towards the middle of the match with Goldberg doing his press slam power slam thing and Brock getting in a few. The match wasnt given any time since they were both leaving also.
I really dont think the match was as awful as people say. The Tag Team Gaunlet matches are the matches people should be bitching about from WM 20 imo... Absolutely awful.....

I quite like this match looking back on it, at the time it was a huge let down but its unique in this day and age in that a lot of old matches used to encorporate guys just feeling each other out for ages, plus the press powerslam goldberg gives lesnar is quality. Yeah it could have been a lot better, but it also is great to see the fans in the garden all over lesnar, and him flipping the bird at the end made it look like he was legitimately pissed off at the fans.

Yeah, I forget to mention how this had the feel of an old match from the 70's or 80's. Noone ever knocked those matches for their feel out starts...

I really just couldn't take it seriously because since both guys were leaving, it seemed to make it pointless. In nearly every instance when a guys leaving he either gets berried and creamed to punish his decision or is allowed/forced to put another guy over huge to elevate someone. This match had neither. Neither got buried really so their was no smark hatred, and neither was staying to get the rub. It seemed pointless in some respects. The only guy getting put over was Austin, who naturally didn't need it.

I liked this match and thought it made sense. Mostly I liked it because the crowd was so into it (for the wrong reasons) it was infectious. But because they were so rowdy about everything except the match, how could they actually start the match? No one would have paid attention and it would have felt like it sucked either way.

That crowd was nothing compared to how John Cena got shat on by the crowd at Wrestlemania 22.

That crowd was nothing compared to how John Cena got shat on by the crowd at Wrestlemania 22. Yep, I was there for that. It was unreal how any mention of Cena and the entire arena went into deafening boos. In between matches, even if there was a backstage segment, you got "Cena Sucks" chants. It was incredible the amount of hate for that guy that night.
