no. that would be the final devaluation of womens wrestling. i've got no problem with the girls doing playboy in their own time, but this would make the entire womens division seem like a side-show attraction, rather than a legit competition on par with the male wrestlers. also, wwe has to realize that alot of young women look up to the divas as role models, and you've gotta wonder how good this decision would be. not only that, but with wrestling being put across in the media as this seedy, scummy show full of drugs and scandals, this would hardly help.

It's a magazine with pretty girls you see on TV naked. You can't really mess that up, though Vince would try his best to do so. Whether it's a good idea or not for other reasons is up for debate, but being successful as a standalone thing saleswise should be pretty obvious.

This may not be a politically correct thing to say but womens wrestling has never been on par with the mens wrestling when it came down to the fans for the most part actually caring about who wins and loses. Womens wrestling at least since I have watched wrestling has always already been a "side show attraction" anyway. In fact if the WWE did away with all womens wrestling and kept the divas for eye candy to put it bluntly than I doubt anyone would care.

Wow, good taste has certainly died HERE, at least.
I mean, it'd be a PR debacle, it'd completely ruin any seriousness in women's wrestling, it'd kill any remaining family aspect and deplete part of the young demographic.
Not that it seems to matter, here...

Not that it seems to matter, here... I usually agree with you Khali, but here I don't. I don't see how it would ruin seriousness in women's wrestling. And screw the family aspect and the damn young demographic. The kids can go suck it, quite frankly. Because I'm sick of them and their damn Cena wristbands and Mysterio masks. Wrestling should be aimed towards the 18-36 demographic, pure and simple. Meaning up the violence, the riskiness, the sex appeal, and the adult content.

I agree with everyone's point about it ruining the seriousness of women's wrestling, but that's already pretty watered down, imo. You can't really have it both ways. Either we go back to straight up wrestling (they can still look sexy while wrestling) and eliminate intelligence-insulting things like bra & panties matches and the "gravy bowl". Or, they can just make it all cheesecake. I mean, it's hard to take it seriously when one week, there's a knock down drag out fight between two arch-rivals, then the next, they're all high-fiving each other after pantsing Todd Grisham and pushing him into a children's swimming pool full of pudding. They should go in one direction and stick with that. However, the one positive to a WWE themed female nudie mag is that we might get to see people whom WWE would never politically push for Playboy. Like Victoria. I'm all for that.

Wrestling should be aimed towards the 18-36 demographic, pure and simple. Meaning up the violence, the riskiness, the sex appeal, and the adult content. The problem is that you're speaking through lust and desire here instead of true prudency. They tried what you said with the Attitude Era and it's a beast that can only go for so long. Quite frankly, if they try to redo it on the scale you described, it'd probably murder WWE and bring wrestling back to the proverbial dark ages. They have to rely on the young demographic, because that's where they get most of their business. They can't just magically appeal to a different demographic and do the same business. Now cam they have something risque, i.e. Playboy every year? Absolutely. That's fine because it alone is just a thing the women do on their own time. In the position they're in, WWE doesn't need to be known as a pure sex industry. That'd be extraordinarily incompetent. The occasional diva swimsuit mag and the annual Playboy posing? Perfectly acceptable. But adult feds DO NOT WORK. And to what Crab said, he's absolutely right. It's pro wrestling. If you want porno, then by all means, go watch porn. I don't want to see something I've watched for damn over 20 years become a damned sex industry. Sex appeal is fine. I won't complain about that. But it becoming a true sex industry just...no.
