True, but I don't think Heidenreich was good for the part. He looked too much like a wrestler. Now Norman the Lunatic, on the other hand, had the right look. He played the gimmick perfectly. Too bad he couldn't wrestle a lick and was generally perceived as a lower level guy.

If I created a terrifying heel, I'd use the guy from Hitcher as a template. Some one cold, calm, collective, and who can brutally snap at the drop of a hat with little or no warning. I love the line that the character in the movie says out of the blue just before stabbing the boyfriend of the couple who picked him; "people think I'm trust worthy, but I'm not."

Waylon Mercy aka Max Cady, Cape Fear rip off. That gimmick had some mileage on it. It was great I thought. SPivey coming down to the ring shakes the refs hand than snaps on his opponent.

Had the WWE actually been serious about Gene Snitsky, they could have had something.

I can visualize this better than I can explain...
Picture a guy that comes off extremely likable from the gate, but he just gives little hints that he isn't all there in the head. This would go on for as long as it takes for the fans to get really behind him.
I would have a moment where he would completely do a 180 and do a dramatic and violently disturbing act on a top face during the end of a PPV. I'd want it to be after a Wrestlemania so it could be on the biggest stage of them all. It may go against what the ideal WM finish, but that's why it's important. So the next night on Raw, he could explain his actions.
I want him to be a guy that the heels won't even dare cross. Not like what they did with Austin after he started to get face reactions for heelish act ya, know. This guy would remind people (wrestlers and fans) that anyone could get the hell beat out of them at the drop of a dime. He shouldn't come off as a merchandise peddling gimmick machine but a legit lunatic that does off the cuff stuff during his matches that JR and King wouldn't know how to respond to.
His promos would be awkward but he always gets the point across and to top is off...bring back the no music and no pyro for his entrance .

Had the WWE actually been serious about Gene Snitsky, they could have had something. They can start by giving him a finisher that doesen't look like a human amusement park ride.

Have a guy who has to be LOCKED up in the backstage area and led to the ring in chains, a blindfold, shackles, and other sorts of stuff to restrict his movement. Have him also be accompanied by a bunch of guards, only released when he's wrestling, then TRANQUILIZED after he decimates his opponents... where they take him to the back again and lock him up till his next match.

Have a heel with an extremely emotionless demeanor. He talks, and he can work the mic, but his emotions are slim to nill. He doesn't feel pain either. He's perfectly capable of being knocked out, but without emotion and pain, only by nearly killing him can you take him out. Make him a submission expert too.
What does he think about anything? No matter how brutal or sadistic to opponents he may be (and he's still emotionless), he believes, solemnly, that everything has justification.

I like the idea of a lethargic, yet ultra violent sociopath... I'm talking sarcastic boy language, contrasted by swift and vicious attacks. My two cents.

I always felt if they had taken it a little more seriously, and drawn it out properly, the Sean O'Haire "I'm not telling you anything you don't already know" devil's advocate could have eventually turned into a very dark, sadistic main eventer. He had the look, the seeds were planted for the gimmick where it was basically a "what should we think about this guy" sort of reaction. If they had done a slow build, instead of him telling Spanky to get naked, his character could have been great. But, then he became Piper's lackey and was flushed away quite quickly. I was really disappointed with how that played out. Squandered opportunity

Brock Lesnar's debut is pretty scary to watch just based on the sheer brutality and power of his moves (particularly the triple powerbomb on Spike Dudley). That said Mankind back in 1996 was a pretty complicated character compared to other heels at the time with him pulling his hair out, hanging about in the sewers and the psycho music. But it also had (in wrestling terms) a deep backstory with Mankind as a former child piano prodigy and his mother driving him mad making him randomly shriek her name during matches and of course the piano victory music which symbolised he was now a peace with himself after destroying his opponent reminding him of childhood memories. And of course the mandible claw which was a pretty unique finishing maneuver at the time. Well he freaked me out as a kid anyway..

New Jack is pretty scary. If they could bottle that lightning, and fabe it out... It might make an interesting gimmick.

I think when the wwe lets him, kane is a scary heel, like he was in 2003 right after his mask was removed.

Yes. The scariest heel would be J.B. Heidenfield, a psycho who fights with a bar of soap as an illegal weapon, and uses the catchphrase "I'll be waiting for you... in the showers."Then, when he turned face, he could kidnap Cole at the beginning of every blue show broadcast by carrying him out over his shoulder (while the little kids in the crowd all cheer), then have Cole mysteriously come back 30 minutes later. When JBL tells Maggle to sit down, an indignant Cole always replies "I CAN'T, John!" to a huge crowd pop.

An intelligent heel, well-spoken. A master of other wrestler's finishing moves & signature manouveres. He ploughs through the best of the roster on PPVs & dominates jobbers on weekly shows. It finally leads to a WrestleMania showdown with The Undertaker. In order for it all to work, 'Taker would have to put the new guy over... that might be a problem. Actually, the biggest problem arises in my first point. If Steph & Co. are adamant about scripting every single word on WWE TV, said heel wil never have intelligent, intimidating dialogue

I'd like to just sit someone down from Creative, make them watch "The Devil's Rejects", copy the Otis character, and there ya go.

They need to bring back a Bad News Brown type of heel. A heel that doesn't even get on with other heels.
I'd pick someone of average build, with some ability in the ring and on the microphone.
You have him start off small so use the likes of Holly and Rhodes his first opponents. Then maybe have Regal try and use him as a go to guy to hurt people but have it backfire unless he gets something out of it. Say a shot at the main title. Regal refuses, so he terroises Regal (Whilst beating up faces as well) Regal relents gives him what he wants. (could lead to Regal getting other heels to attack this guy but have them fail or also refuse)
Basically I want a heel wrestler to actually outsmart these GM's. At the moment all the heels seem to be either under the evil Gm's control or are in agreement with them. So many times Vince or Regal have had Umaga, Carlito, Orton etc do there dirty work for once I would like to see a heel wrestler say no, and then force what he wants out of the GM.
While T. Long had people go one on one with the undertaker, perhaps they could have had a nasty heel guy reply ...
'Good, that's what I wanted!'
Then the NHG does a Khali and beats The Undertaker with ease and comes back to the office and demands he gets what he originally wanted or otherwise he'll do the same thing to him.

A manipulator, Jim Jones or Hitler type of dictator who appears on the outside to be helping others , but is really looking for his own personal gain and manipulates and uses others to get what he wants and has inferiority complex. A more subtle type of heel, someone that doesnt come acrossed as a downright heel but it turns that he really is though using others. Along these lines (this is more of an angle) I'd like to see a buildup where all of the company's storylines... from the women's feuds to the mid-card to the top-level main-event stuff is all being manipulated by one man (not a McMahon). The announcers would clue the audience in by starting to notice more and more how angles are connected. This would have to be drawn out over several months, with some truly heinous things happening. When it's revealed, the man becomes a dangerous pyschopath, more dangerous in the form of swaying opinion and manipulating rather than outright brutality, although he can get the job done physically if need be. And the best part would be that he has tangled a web so intricate and so deep that people can't just outright turn on him without screwing themselves even more.
