Maybe my mind has been warped from his DVD but is he really the greatest bar none?
After watching his documentary there would be no question in my mind.... But then I thought for about 10 minutes and I start to think of guys like Kurt Angle who wrestled with a broken freaking neck... Guys like Bret Hart who didn't do as much arial stuff but was known as the best damn in ring technician
So anyways, put in your 2 cents.... Love his matches no doubt.... But in his league of his own seems to be pushing it..... Especially when people say he couldn't draw a dime...

His matches were always great, and him as a heel was great, but his 96 babyface was the worst thing ever!!!

Hard to say, it is like apples and oranges. He is certainly one of the all time best, now is he the best of all time, I'm not so sure. After all guys like Flair are just as good, or even better, it is a tough call.

One of the greatest ever, yes. I have a hard time saying there is a singular greatest wrestler ever since it takes more than one to put on a match and how things have evolved so much.

Maybe. I can't think of a bad Shawn Michaels match, myself.

He's pretty great, but I don't think he's the all time best.

We can all say Hogan was the biggest draw (Without a doubt) He made the most cash.
But saying he's the all time best in ring performer bar none seems to be a little bit much

HBK the greatest? No way!! They have been so many greats over the years even before most of us were born, Nature Boy Buddy Rogers, Lou Thesz, etc. I would say that Flair in his day was a better in ring performer than Shawn. Dynamite and Steamboat were better I thought as well in their day.

Eddy, Angle, Benoit, Flair (in his prime), Steamboat...these are just the guys off the top of my head who were awesome performers I'd put right up against Michaels' best. There are definitely more.

Oh absolutely. Shawn Micheals is one of the best all-around talents in the world of wrestling. And even as one of his biggest fans on here (Which says something!)I couldn't stand him in 96!

Eddy, Angle, Benoit, Flair, savage, race, foley (he had the psychology), jake the snake (same as foley), debiase, funk, steamboat, both owen and bret hart, shawn taker, i couldnt give a definative answer lets be honest every legend has had a string of good to great matches to pick one great would be impossible and likley to start massive arguements shawn is one of the greats and is worth every accolade you can give but there is no such thing as the best as everyone likes someone better than someone else!

Nope. He's one of the best all-rounders (but still not THE best all-rounder), but in terms of technical and chain-wrestling, he's nowhere near the best. Michaels' strengths are bumping, selling, gaining sympathy or hatred from the crowd, and high-flying.

I watched the DVD documentary, and those early vids of him in the light blue tights, with his whole wiener visible?

This is the way I see it. Benoit, Angle, Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, & Rob Van Dam are all extremely good in ring wrestlers. They have held World Championship gold. All but RVD headlined a WrestleMania. The thing is Eddie, Benoit, & Jericho were not on top very long. Each had a run or two in the main event. RVD didn't even get out of the gate in WWE. The only good in ring wrestler who has been a main event guy as long as HBK is Ric Flair. Hogan was the biggest draw of all time... ok I will go with that. I will also go with Ric Flair as the best wrestler of all time over all just due to his longevity in the business and his over all success. But how many wrestlers have come back from a five year break and picked up right where they left off? Shawn Michaels took part in the first ever WWE Ladder Match, WWE Iron Man Match, Hell in a Cell Match, & Elimination Chamber Match. Just that fact has to put him in the top ten. You add to that the fact that he carried Hulk Hogan to a extremely good match at Summer Slam and the fact that he has stolen the show at EVERY WrestleMania since his return from back injury and you do have the greatest in ring performer in wrestling history. Sure others could out wrestle him but that is NOT the question. In ring performance includes ring psychology, wrestling ability, story telling ability, & the ability to take convincing bumps. HBK does all of that... and today that is very very rare. In my eyes Shawn Michaels is the best in ring performer of all time. There are plenty of wrestlers who I love to watch including Sting, Ric Flair, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko and the list goes on but I believe that Shawn Michaels has them all beat.
