For those that have never smoked weed, you are uneducated and cannot truely voice your opinion in this matter because it is an un-educated opinion.

Really, weed sucks. Well, it does for me, because I can't get stoned off it. Anyway, my uncle is paranoid as f*** from prolonged weed smoking so no-one can say it doesn't damage the brain.

Just like "You don't know you're gay until you try it"? These are the worst arguments ever and are a poor way of debating for your side. It's basically saying you have no strong points and you have to stand behind that weak shield. That being said, I don't see what's so funny about what RVD said. It's his beliefs, and it's no different than believing a kid could kill a giant with a stone or that one man saved all the animal species of the world on a wooden boat.

I wouldn't make fun of RVD's views either. If the whole human race somehow had to start all over again (technology included) and all they had were documents of what our lifetime was like, they'd read stories of a man named Neil who flew up to the moon while the whole world watched at the same time due to the power of television (what's that? Super vision?). I'm sure they'd think it was a fictional story made up by some guy named nasa. RVD has a right to believe what he believes.

If you actually read the article, you'd see that he is NOT saying he believes it was a demon, but is saying that that's a ridiculous an explanation in his opinion as saying Benoit snapped. I think he's just still not wanting to face the fact his friend did what he did. Which is perfectly understandable, as humans by nature do not like to accept the truth if it hurts. It was funny. In the interview, PS asked him if it was bad timing to get caught smoking weed, so soon after being given the title. RVD basically implied that no, it was great timing, because it raised the profile of why weed use needed to be legalised. So there you go. Titles mean nothing to Rob Van Dam: SOCIAL LOBBYIST!!!!! LOL. I can't help but like RVD. That is an absurd theory. It was obviously the work of PAZUZU!!!!!! Pazuzu!!!! I took you through college, and this is how you repay me!!!

The Sandman offered up the same theory. I won't rule it out. I've watched plenty episodes of The Haunted. Possessions are real and can cause serious evil. We'll never know for sure.

Actually, that didn't make me laugh so much as think. It's an interesting comment that sums up the sheer enormity of the situation and the shock of it all. There's also a distinct spiritual belief in there, which I respect.

As a firm believer in the paranormal, that makes as much, and as little sense as any other possibility. Many are not going to believe, but I have been possessed in my life one also. I could go on about this, but if anyone wants to open a thread in an off-topic discussion, I can explain myself in fuller detail. That said, it could be something that grew inside Benoit until it became all out of control. Whatever it is, it shocked everyone to find out that Benoit did that act.

You know, I've always wondered if it was somehow discovered that Benoit DIDN'T do it. That it was actually a triple murder. Not in denial, just a curiosity.
How would WWE react? How would the fans react?

Um...so did anyone else find how RVD went into detail about a theory about demons and what not, and then go right after and say a very simple, logical theory?
That's what I thought was amusing...

K, when RVD got into the whole Ghost Busters shtick, yeah, that was over the top. But cutting through it all, I think he was trying to say "The Chris Benoit that was my friend is not the man who did that."

I've yet to see an interview from anyone who knew Benoit who said they weren't completely shocked by what he did.
At most a few people have alluded to seeing 'signs', but hindsight is great like that. I'm sure the 'signs' like Benoit being withdrawn, quiet, stressed or upset look more significant now, in light of what happened. Truth is, we all have a bad day. Or a bad month.
Obviously Benoit must have been troubled. Deeply troubled. But the 'signs' people have alluded to would have stood out no more at the time than probably a dozen other guys in WWE who were going through a particularly sh*tty time at the same time. It's not like the guy was collecting pictures of dead kids, and carrying around guns all day long talking to guys about how cool it would be to kill his whole family one day. Geez, stuff like that might have made it less of a shock. But coming across as a bit upset? Pft.
And I can see where RVD is coming from. He's just saying that the Benoit he knew just didn't seem capable of this. Everyone who knew him couldn't say enough good things about him as a person, before and even after his death. That says a lot, considering what he did. I saw a lot of wrestlers, who just couldn't comprehend how a genuinely good guy could snap like he did.
So what RVD seems in line with all that. I guess accepting that the man they knew was capable of doing this in sound mind, would cast a dark shadow on their whole lives and everyone they know. How do you accept that someone you always thought was a great guy, was capable of what he did? Like RVD, I don't believe the man, Chris Benoit, who everyone respected and admired did this. Obviously, for whatever reason, it was a different man who carried out those acts; whether we mean that literally, metaphorically or mentally, it is the only explanation for many to accept.
