WWE's ring is larger than normal(compared to indy rings, WCW, ECW, etc..). Should WWE use a smaller ring? Would it make a difference in terms of cosmetics, quality of matches, more room for crowd attendance, etc...?

I prefer WWE's 20' x 20' ring. If they make it smaller, it'll only be room for one row, if that, so I don't really see a good reason to make it smaller.

I like the big ring, personally.

It's fine the way it is. In fact, having a bigger ring makes it stand out a bit. Plus, Lance Storm said that making the transition to a bigger wasn't that difficult when he went to WWE.
It's the same mentality I have with TNA's Six-Sided ring: if you stand out because of a ring, in a positive way, more power to you.

I think it's fine as it is.
I really like the fact that the E at least has ample space around the ring for highspots, Spanish announce table shenanigans, etc..
I really hate that so many smaller venues that you see in indy matches have, like, 2 inches between the ring and the guardrail, yet they do highspots where guys fly out of the ring every 3 minutes.

No, it has to be that large in case Mark Henry and Big Daddy V ever have a match together.

If they made it smaller, it would have somewhat of a negative impact on the Royal Rumble..and I wouldn't be for that.

Multiple-Man Matches just look too crowded in a non-WWE ring.
Plus, it makes the Van Terminator look so awesome.

Just read some of the comments guys who had worked in the 16x16 ring used by WCW, and you'll see why the WWE shouldn't makes any changes.

if you could get a WWE sised ring with cables instead of rope, now that would be good

WWE uses a smaller ring for house shows 18x18
aesthetically I like the 20x20 ring more room to do things.
I hated WCW's mini ring.

I'd heard horror stories about bad ropes in WCW, but that's about all I remember hearing about the ring itself. Just that the ring was smaller, and it threw off their timing. I remember Kevin Nash saying that it took him a while to get use to the ring, because he could take three steps and be more than half-way across.

But wouldn't you say that with a larger ring like the E', that Irish Whips look more forced than when done in a smaller ring?

I think the more room they have the better.

I used to hate the WCW ring that had the giant WCW in the middle of it. Flair would have a guy in the FF on that emblem and his opponent could reach the ropes.

I've always liked a smaller ring. It keeps the action faster paced and more enjoyable for me, though it's rough for battle royals.

I've worked a WCW ring in HWA, it was a Thunder one and my god the stiffest ring i have ever fealt. It was a night of limited bumps because that ring was like landing on a rock.

If you want some hideously small rings, look at those used by the FWA. Those things are like 10x10.
