So... you're saying every time Marty Jannetty got punched, small amounts of cocaine flew out of his nose? ... right. Are you suggesting that Johnny Hamsterman isn't the #1 bigtime reliable source I took him to be, and that in fact his every single post is mildly tinged with smarky negativity? I won't have that, Asterix... I won't have that at all.

Were you expecting his return matches against Angle? Cause those were with KURT ANGLE. It's gonna be harder to have a 5 star match with Kennedy than Anglee.

Was I watching the same match? I thought he looked damn good out there. Yeah he's not flying as high as he once did, but neither is Shawn. Hell, even Jeff Hardy doesn't do as much as he did in his younger days. For what it was, I thought they put on one hell of a match. The part I do feel bad about was that Shawn saving Marty was completely overshadowed by an unnecessary DX re-pop. We just saw them together a few weeks ago, for pete's sake. Let Shawn and Marty stand side by side in "moral victory" one more time, eh? I thought he looked alright. Unfortunately matches with extended wrestling often make fans actually feel uncomfortable unless it's an established star like HBK that they'll pop for anyway. It really brings the matches down. Even for smarks that are looking for some good in ring work, it's hard to get into a match when the crowd is sitting on their hands, that includes me as well.

compared to the slaughter/snuka tag match a few months ago, the jannety match was a classic.

he's likely rusty as f***... given some time, i bet he could be awesome again. I don't blame Jannetty that much. Who the hell has Kennedy had chemistry with in the ring lately? Hardy maybe? That's about it. The guy's like oil to everyone's water out there lately. Amen.

I only felt bad because 90% of the fans in the arena had no idea who Marry Janetty was. If it wasn't for the 2 morons behind me calling him a crackhead, you could hear a pin drop in the arena.

He's done. He needs to work BEHIND the scenes, not inside of the ring. Nostalgia period: over. Thanks for the memories, Susan.

Spike, you know I can't keep up with these motherf***ers any more. I can't even tell when they are or are not being sarcastic. I've heard a lot of dumb things in my lengthy time on this board... the thing is, more often than not, the person spouting off the dumb thing actually takes it seriously. So, you never know.
All's I'm saying is once cocaine goes up your nose, it doesn't come flying back out in giant bursts of powder.

I didn't think the match was that bad.

I didn't think the match was bad at all. I thought it was a well thought out match. The problem was that it was the last match. It had to follow all of that other stuff that came before it. Why they saved it for last, I'll never understand.

I thought it was as good as anyone could have with Kennedy, (I find the man a blackhole of talent, you have to pair him with the top dude and you still only have an average at best match) but Marty did pretty good for a guy who's rarely performing. Heres hopeing we could see a bit more of him in the future.

I was surprised to see him mobile; last I heard he couldn't walk. Lol, did you hear that from the Sexy Kurt? Careful, he'll make your ankle hurt.

I'm sure the decision to have Jannetty work was probably a fairly last-minute thing (or else they probably would've promoted it last week) and he didn't have time to get in ring shape.
If you remember his mini-comeback a couple years ago, they had it planned out weeks in advance, so he was in better shape for his two matches. (I also seem to think he was working some indies back then, too)
I think if you gave Marty a chance to get in shape (and keep him away from the white gold) he could still be a useful guy on the low mid-card.

The match was fine, and considering the amount of rust Marty probably had, I'd say it went hellagood.

I counted almost a full half a minute for him to climb to the top rope last night. Kennedy laying in the background, patiently waiting for Marty to ascend.
He needs to hang it up.

He's 45 in real years, and 85 in drug years, so the guy did about as good as you could expect.

I agree completely that its true even though its really sad. Ive never been beside another wrestling crowd that has this unique ability to hate on anything past 5 minutes if its not main event talent in the ring...

The match was alright, but the sight of Mart Janetty bores me. Sure he can wrestle okay, but he's just not interesting. Janetty is like the wrestling version of watching paint dry.

That's why I love going to Indy shows way better then watching RAW. Even if I don't know any of the people, the auidence usually gets into it which really helps liven things up and make it fun.
