So why does TBS have a show where the couple has a gimp/bondage pet? Why not? It's not ABC Family (which doesn't exist anymore but that's neither here nor there)

That doesn't matter in wrestling anymore

If this is meant to be compelling it's not clicking for me. If it's meant to be Looney Tunes, it's aces Do you really think a segment that featured Jack having child locks and the interviewer saying "let's knock" is serious

Since Athena vs. Willow got delayed until Rampage. Predicting who will win Ruby vs. Skye is not much harder. Guessing right now that Ruby wins then Willow wins and Athena costs her the match on Collision to set up the rubber match at the ROH PPV since they have to set that up VERY fast.

It would be cool if Ruby/Skye wasn't the 50th straight Outcasts singles match that sucks because of the endless interference spots

It's probably gonna be Shooter for the BCC but I'd love if they got Jun Kasai He's doing the G1, he's not an option.

I don't remember who said it but I saw someone say on Twitter that while AEW was created by The Elite and everything, they're not the heart/soul of AEW, Eddie Kingston is. And I think it's lines like this that demonstrate that. He can make anyone instantly care about something because of his raw ability to portray emotion in a way I don't think anyone in wrestling can besides maybe Terry Funk. This is also why he should be the guy who takes the title off of MJF but that's neither here nor there.
(Also it doesn't hurt that he's the most consistent worker in the company, minus that baffling Jericho barbed wire match that was not his fault)

8 probably. Really good Owen matches, nice to see Julia Hart ultimately, the tag match was great until it ran out of gas the last few minutes to just being really good, and it still had a nice flow about it. Still don't care about Scorpio Sky at all and his match against Action was a whole bunch of nothing, but such is that slot.

2 ad breaks in the first 18 minutes better mean they are leaving a lot of breathing room for Punk/Joe or something

Ricky Starks is clearly the 2nd evolution of Aaron Solow. Who is their Blastoise? He looks vaguely like an older Dante Martin

TK: “I mean I could book another women’s match to make up for this. But nah.” Knew this was coming She was likely not cleared until she was checked today. Knowing that, it's not really clear what women are at this taping to be booked at the last minute Julia getting featured might be their best option for women who already aren't booked There's an ROH taping after, they have women backstage.

He doesn't actually care about the women's division. Except Britt maybe. Bullshit. So tired of this narrative, people have tried to push it for years now and it simply isn't f***ing true Britt Baker for the past year hasn't even really won anything of consequence outside of her home town. Rosa has been champion, Hayter has been champion, Storm has been champion twice, Willow Nightingale has been a force, Kris Statlander is doing with the TBS Title what should have been done. You can criticize the Jade stuff but he clearly wanted to push Kris to the moon and he is, and before injury, Thunder Rosa was being booked as unstoppable. Shida is getting main events and getting a push to one of the belts on Rampage, Willow vs Athena is a premiere match on Collision this week, Skye Blue is getting pushed in the Owen Tournament where a woman who isn't named Britt Baker is gonna win. Just like... f***ing sick of being told "Tony Khan only cares about Britt Baker", shit's old, especially when Britt Baker just LOST, AGAIN, this week to Soho. I feel like Baker could be fired tomorrow and we'd still get people trying to push that Khan only wants to push Britt Baker, it's a really weird narrative that doesn't really fit anymore. And if the endgame is Hayter vs Storm III in Wembley I can't exactly fault Khan for wanting to put that match on, it's a match featuring two of the best women's wrestlers in the world, who also, aren't Britt Baker. I don't think he only cares about Britt anymore, but like others have said, he doesn't really care about any of them. He has FIVE hours of TV now, and three TV shows on TV. Yet he cannot give the women a single second match on a single one of the shows. Just look at the excursions that happen. When guys like Tana/Ishii/Ospreay/Okada/Suzuki/Sanada/so forth all come over, they rightfully get a match on TV against a big guy and show out. But the women? Utami Hayashishita is currently in America, and is working for GCW instead of getting an AEW match. Maki Itoh wrestles dark matches and when it existed, wrestled on Dark. The entirety of Stardom almost was here for a couple weeks in March/April and they only got maybe one ROH match if anything. Emi Sakura absolutely showed out in both her matches against Riho and Hayter this year. Her reward in the 4 months since? One loss on Rampage to the far worse Taya on Rampage and a solid match against Willow. The rest, nothing. He has so much talent in the company for women, but the only thing we really get on Dynamite (their flagship show) is this stupid Outcasts bullshit which rarely produces anything about pretty good. He doesn't even really have a second women's angle going on actual TV at the moment for the women, but hey at least there's time for this 10 month long Hardys/Ethan Page dynamic. They are being embarrassingly outmaneuvered by GCW in every single way when it comes to booking women or treating them as equals in storylines, and that's sad considering it's GCW of all places. Also Toni Storm is not one of the best women's wrestlers in the world. She's not even really close to Athena, Hayter, Shida, or Riho and after her run lately is a fair amount behind current Willow.

Moxley in his 2022 reigns felt like the man in a way I'm not really sure anyone has, even belt collector Kenny. For worst, MJF thankfully is finally doing actual TV matches now instead of a promo a week while his opponents go through the ringer garbage he had been doing for so long so hey maybe he can finally overcome that.

I fully conceded in the post that you grabbed this quote from that Moxley probably involves blood a little too gratuitously in inconsequential matches. But, bleeding in matches is something entirely different than having deathmatches. That's why I said Moxley is more 1980s Dusty Rhodes (as a face) or King Kong Bundy (as a heel) than Zandig. YMMV on whether or not you enjoy that, and I'm definitely not going to try and have an objective discussion about subjective opinions, but I do think that's it's just an outright falsity that Mox is any kind of a backyard wrestling trope. He's a territory throwback trope. The Evil Uno match was what soured me on Moxley's entire schtick. I was frustrated that the dude can't just wrestle, you know, a regular old match. He always has to bleed or make the other guy bleed. He has to go to the the floor right away. Or brawl in the crowd. Or use some kind of foreign object. It's exhausting. And in most instances, in AEW at least, he's not wrestling "death matches," but like I said about in the past two "Rate the AEW PPV" threads, for Revolution and Double or Nothing, he can't help but indulge his worst tendencies (Revolution) and his matches are cliched (Double or Nothing). Give me an angle where he loses a match with a stip that he can't rely on his usual bag of tricks or he's kayfabe fired, have him work 20-40 matches without his tired song-and-dance, and maybe I'll come back around on the guy. Let him wrestle within some confines or obstructions to show that he still can. Moxley doing stuff like what's shown in the OP might make him happy, but it's all just static to me. You literally just picked a Death Match he had with Hangman to say he's not having death matches (you mean a blow off to a months long feud that has gone back and forth is a wild hate fueled brawl? how could he do such a thing), and a match at DoN which is deliberately a wild brawl. At both this year and last year's Forbidden Doors, he had normal non blood-infused very good matches. His matches against Punk and MJF as PPV main events didn't factor in blood that much (hell Punk was the one that bled in their match, not him). His tag matches with Punk against FTR, with Danielson and Claudio against Top Flight, the Jericho Dynamite title match where Jericho bled and he didn't, etc. He has a TON of matches that have been really great post WWE where he doesn't bleed, it's just selective memory where bleeding stands out because it leads to fun images.

Not lack of promotion, promoting what is going to happen on the show or storylines. I could be wrong but pretty much every single ad I’ve seen either says cm punk is here or miro is here or something along those lines. Advertise what bullet club gold is doing or the house of black tormenting Andrade, don’t just be like hey this guy might appear lmao. I think Collision is fine, but there is nothing to bite onto right now. AEW has 3 tournaments going on right now. They're not interesting. Collision has been CMFTStarks vs BC Gold, Hart Tournament, Andrade picking up wins, and Miro squashes. Unless you're an absolute ROH die hard, why should you care that Joe and Punk wrestled 18 years ago? I think they expecting Punk and the AEW branding to do all the initial leg work, but it isn't. It's a Saturday night show during the summer. If I'm off, I'm recording the show and I'm going out and enjoying myself. Joe is basically an Indy god and even dominated Brock Lesnar in a PPV main event. It's not exactly hard to sell this for a few weeks when you can see the crowd reaction he/Punk get any time they are near each other. Hell Dynamite is selling a TV feud on BTE skits the last two weeks at this point. I can promise you more people can link to Joe/Punk than that.

Yes, violent brawls are sort of his signature match, but he's never, not even once, had an ultraviolent hardcore match just for the sake of having it. I failed to see why Moxley vs. Evil Uno in a throwaway TV match needed blood, even if it was Moxley who made Uno bleed. (don't worry, Moxley bled when Page ran in and hit Moxley with a barbed wire fist to heat up the build for their snoozefest Texas Death Match.) Hangman/Mox Texas Death... snooze fest? Are you kidding me

I almost wonder if the Jericho thing is leading to a face turn where he tells Callis to screw, and set up a possible face vs face Retirement Match between him and Sting at Wembley. Feels like it they were to do that, there would actually be an air of uncertainty as to who wins. It'd also make you wonder if that meant JAS turned face in support or flaked from Chris as a result... they could probably work as faces tbh Ehhhh. Garcia I think could but he's better as a heel who eventually turns face and has a big breakout. Hager should never be a face again in his life. Daddy Magic/Cool Hand Ang are just such a good midcard heel tag team that I can't see their ways translating to being faces. Sammy I guess if you want to keep going that route. It hasn't been brought up as a possibility, but does anyone know if PAC is healthy? He fits exactly what BCC is and has a longstanding grudge against both The Elite and Hangman.

That man? Longtime friend of the elite, Marty Sc- *is immediately memory wiped* Also does this mean we can finally get some goddamn singles matches out of this feud? Neither Buck has been in a singles match in over 18 months, and Hangman has still never faced Yuta or Claudio/Omega never faced Claudio.

8 I think. Same dynamic as last week with great opener/closer but I think the middle was lifted by that fun MJF/Cole bit. The Jericho stuff is kind whatever but at least it wasn't the just bad Elite/Dark Order stuff (what a fun show Rampage will be!)
The women's stuff on Dynamite continues to be bad but at least Shida matches on Rampage and Athena/Willow on Collision is happening.
