The Good Shepard. From the previews it look like a good spy thriller. By god the movie was so boring. Nothing exciting happens. There is only one exciting part and that is when Jolie and Damon have sex and it was only three minutes long. Yeah, that was a loser...and considering the subject material, you could make a compelling cinematic history of the CIA's birth, and their crazyness they orchestrated in the 50s. Worse, the Damon/Jolie angle is so boring and a waste of time. Household melodrama (you aren't ever HOOOOOME!) and that whole "you knocked her up, marry!" angle was just goofy. Robert DeNiro is a great actor, arguably the greatest ever....but keep him away from a camera. Please. Have you rated that movie yet rra?

I went to Cloverfield, I WANTED TO LIKE Cloverfield, but I just couldnt, very disappointed in it. Also I noticed several people mention V for Vendetta. I actually went to this movie knowing very very very little about it, it has now become on of my favorites, so, I guess that could be listed as surprisingly liked. Wow. I'm supposed to see Clovefield in a couple of hours. I guess I should cancel.

I must say, the DVD viewing experience will be garbage compared to the theatrical epic experience. Do it, watch it tonight. Don't punk out.

Yes, you have to see Cloverfield in theaters. It was an awesome movie, quite easily my favorite giant monster movie of all time.
One movie I was very surprised that I liked was The Holiday. My only complaint was I wish they would have shown more of Kate Winslet and Jack Black's part of the story. As far as romantic comedies go it's really quite good.

Vanilla Sky. Despite all the hate that movies gets, I actually enjoyed it. The only thing I enjoyed about that was the fact that they play Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley in it.

Oh yeah, and I saw The Village and Catwoman at a Drive-in as a double feature. AND I had a fever.

I got dragged by the future Mrs. Schlapowitz to see "Stardust". I thought it looked absolutely abysmal. I ended up really enjoying it!

I just remembered a movie being highly disappointed with: The Quiet Man starring John Wayne. We read the story the movie was based on in class, and then the teacher showed us the movie. I was expecting a black and white, gritty drama and instead got a technicolored, light-hearted comedy.
I was so disappointed. If I ever became a director, I would remake The Quiet Man closer to the source material.

Vanilla Sky. Despite all the hate that movies gets, I actually enjoyed it. The only thing I enjoyed about that was the fact that they play Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley in it. And the Dylan stuff that's in the movie. When it first came out, I chose this over seeing the first Lord of the Rings, and wasn't displeased. Cruise, Lee and Russell were all really great. Yeah, Tom Cruise was good in something, go figure.

The Village. I thought I was gonna like it but I think it was the first movie I ever walked out of saying "god damn that sucked". I remember my friends rented it and I told them "dont watch it, that movie sucks" and I went to sleep. The first thing I heard when I woke up was them talking and one of them said to the other "...that Village movie was really bad".
You dont usually laugh after you wake up but that made me laugh...

I had heard lots of good stuff about Boondock Saints, The original Blair Witch Project, and Sin City, but when I saw them, they did nothing for me, and I pretty much hated them all. I actually wanted to leave the theater halfway through some of those.

Films that people love that I seem to hate are Kingpin and Dumb and Dumber. I just failed to see the humor in it all. Blasphemy. Blasphemy for you, perhaps. I stand by what I said.

Transformers. I went in expecting a bad movie that would be forgotten by all within a year. I came out of it having a new favorite movie, and I'm currently eagerly awaiting the sequels.
