The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (74 Version)
This movie is everything that people say they hate about horror movies. Theres no real backstory, character development, or reasoning for anything that happens. But thats not what ruins it for me, really it adds too it.
The two most "intense" scenes are "annoying brother gets killed by chainsaw" and "girl screams and we zoom in on here eyes over and over". The movie really doesnt build or anything like that.
What I disagree with most is the "creepy atmosphere". Its all opinion I guess. I mean people see/feel "creepy atmosphere", but to me its just a horror movie filmed on some crappy cameras. The framing sucks and you cant hear anything. I guess that can make a creepy atmosphere for some people.
For real I wanted to like the movie, but I didnt, but its the way that people really overrate this movie that finally made me think about why I didnt like it.
Please dont insult me and call me some "ADD MTV Generation" teenager or whatever people call other people who arent nostalgic. This has nothing to do with my opinion of the movie.
Oh and the "Grandpa" character sucks. They were trying way too hard to make him creppy, kinda like the rest of the movie...

I was once dragged to Sky High, kicking and screaming. I came out and said "Damn....That was actually good." Although a kid's movie, I highly recommend it. I don't know if I'd highly recommend it, but it was not the dreadful movie I expected. I saw SAHARA a few weeks ago - I was expecting a disaster from the reviews I'd heard, but it turned out being pretty damn decent.

AVPR
I liked the first one and the second looked like it improved all of the flaws of the original. Looking back at the movie, everything about this movie was right up my alley...but I just never liked it.
This really surprises me, because its really hard for me not to like a movie with Aliens and Predators in it.
