Last one reached 30 pages. So here we go. By the way, Smoltz pitched another masterful game today.

I don't care for rain delays. Especially when Alex Rodriguez was primed and ready to take Papelbon deep. Again.

Hey Ani, just so you know the Giants are expressing intrest in Braves first baseman Scott Throman. I'm sure Atlanta can put together a nice little package of Thorman, one of our many highly rated outfield prospects, and maybe a Chuck James or Jo-Jo Reyes (both for all I care) for Matt Cain maybe Lincecum, but that is pushing it.

Guys, this Yanks-Sox rain delay is taking so long that I'm starting to think Jeanne Zelasko is hot.
Is there something wrong with me at this juncture?

Well she does look less like a prostitute than normal. But that still doesn't make it OK to find her attractive. If you start thinking that Tim McCarver actually makes sense, you're in trouble.

In response to a post regarding Dave Ortiz in the last MLB thread. I have heard rumors that he may be hurt or at least not 100%. Is there truth to this?

In response to a post regarding Dave Ortiz in the last MLB thread. I have heard rumors that he may be hurt or at least not 100%. Is there truth to this? His knee was flaring up a little within the last week. Right now, his mechanics are all out of whack. He's trying different stances, some of which may have to do with his knee still ailing him. Once he gets comfortable at the plate, the hits will come. I think his knee is still better than it was for the majority of 2007, and he still put up terrific numbers.

On a random note, I'm really sad to see what's happening to Andruw Jones. I know he's not a Brave anymore, but I spent a good portion of my life watching him. Andruw was always one of those guys that was a Brave through and through, not just a guy who put on the uniform. Then, I guess it's his ego that has flared up, or his stubborness. But he just refuses to let anyone help fix what's wrong with him. He tries to pull every ball no matter where it is, and tries to swing for the fences no matter what the situation is. In what should be the prime of his carrer, a carrer that well could have brought him to the Hall of Fame, he is destroying everything he worked for in the past. He has so much natural talent and just lets it waste. All he has to do is hit the ball, the homeruns will come... he doesn't need to force them like he does then tell the media "I'm just a pull hitter, that's the way it is." It makes me sad to see this.

Does Cleveland just not care? Really? I mean, against OAKLAND?!? With a team BA of .243, how many players are hitting in the .100's? (Blake, which is shocking, Gutierrez, which isn't... HOW is he a starter?)
And where is this awesome relief pitching? And STARTING pitching?
It's 2008, Cleveland, 2003 doesn't want you anymore...

All I have to say is Ted Lily, sigh. Another bad start and this time the bullpen or offense cant' do anything. Hope to avoid the sweep tomarrow.
