I agree, the whole horrorcore style is old now and should stay dead....and I haven't listened to Cage since 2000 or something like that....was never a fan but like I said I do know that Eminem took Cage's style straight to the top...
How did Cage switch his style up to be like Em? Is he making fake depressing songs constantly now?
Only white rappers I've liked anyway have been a little bit of MC Serch and Copywrite anyway...

I'm hard to please. You gotta be original when it comes to rap. I get it, you're from a rough hood, made a lot of money own cars I'll never afford, and popular with women. I've heard that time and again.
...now for reasons I'll not discuss on this board, who HAS impressed me Greydon Square . How many Crips from Compton are Quantam Physics majors? Now that is original.

I used to like it, but I pretty much grew out of it.
For the most part.

Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but all the rap I seem to hear nowadays is that dance club kind of crap like "Soldia Boy" which I cannot stand. I used to really like gangster rap like Dre, Snoop and Scarface. But most of the stuff I hear nowadays is way too appealing to upper class white kids who think they're badasses for listening to it.

I remember being a senior in high school and listening to a friend's copy of NWA's "Straight Outta Compton." While a lot of others were listening to heavy metal and acting like it was intense, that didn't have jack on NWA's ferocity.
To this day, I still like NWA, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, KRS-One, Public Enemy, Ice T, Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac.
Let's not overlook Paul's Boutique in the old rap discussion. Yeah, it was the Beasties but it was a 180 degree turn from where they were coming off Licensed to Ill. Paul's Boutique is a majorly overlooked album because it wasn't the commercial hit its predecessor was.

Tell ya what. I hate rap. Period. And every time I say that I get people flaming me, what have you...so I'll make ya'll a deal.
Tell me some rappers who's songs don't include any of the following, and I will listen to it and tell you what I think: Drug use/glorification, bragging about how much money/rims/bitches you have, f*** whitey, or smacking my bitches.

Ha, nice, one of the few rap songs I actually like. Actually made it the theme song for an e-fed tag team I had once.

I just like the fact they threw in the line "Redd Foxx and Ripple."
Anyone who works in a Sanford and Son reference is aight in my book.

I DESPISE Flashing Lights. It always plays on the radio down here and its one of the most annoying, monotonous songs I've ever heard. The others I'll check out once I get home.

Ah. Sorry 'boot that then. I just posted it because it doesn't fall under any of the negative criteria you posted LOL no its cool I appreciate any and all suggestions. I just can't stand Kanye in general, and something about that song makes me want to smash things. I'm also not big on people dropping the N word in their songs. I don't think anybody should say it, black OR white. ....so yeah its kinda hard to find rap I like lol

Except that it seems impossible for a white person to say it without it being derogatory. Most of my friends offline are black and I'd never say it around them (just behind their backs.).

I don't think I hate Rap music that much (even though it's not my thing), I just hate how utterly petty it can be. I know most genres are, but Rap in particular. When you got someone throwing a hissy fit and making a "diss" because a comedy artist parodied them, than that's some laughable stuff.
