I went to the Indians game yesterday, but it was rained out. During the delay, people were allowed to send text messages and they would be shown on the big screen. But there was this one guy who kept texting Chuck Norris facts.
So a typical run of text messages would look like this:
go tribe!!!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY from Joey and Lisa
i luv grady! go tribe!
Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.

To think it took the Milwaukee Brewers just over one month to make this decision...

Someone tell the Marlins that they aren't due for their World Series and subsequent team blowup until NEXT year.

Carmona with a 5-hit shutout. The Blue Jays have scored A run in the first three games of the series. And we've got Lee going later tonight.

HELL FREAKING YES. I was just about to post this. Who was the last to do it? Furcal? Tulo last year, against the Braves. Chipper hit into it. Before that, was Furcal.

Indians just turned an unassisted triple play, Asdrubal Cabrera. How the hell did he do that? Not sure how he did it but it can happen. Runners on 1st and 2nd. Batter hits the ball right to the glove, 1 out. 2nd base runner tries to go back and is caught, out 2. Runner from first is going to second not paying attention, caught in a rundown and is tagged by the guy who got the other two outs. There's your unassisted tripe play.

Overbay hits a broken bat shot that Cabrera dives and catches. Steps on second, and then tags the runner from first (who by that time was practically at second). Triple play.

It's funny, at the time I was just thinking "Okay, Overbay is a pretty slow runner, so if anybody would hit into a triple play, it's him. Besides, Lee's got it going on right now, so why not?"
I just never expected the unassisted.

Someone tell the Marlins that they aren't due for their World Series and subsequent team blowup until NEXT year. 1997----->2003----->2009 well, with a new stadium finally coming, Loria has given Beinfest permission to give the homegrown guys extensions. Hanley got his, and you will more than likely see Olsen,Willingham,Hermida, and Uggla(who is a very underrated player) all get long term extensions in the near future. Just think how good the Marlins could be if Cameron Maybin was ready to play everyday, and our starting rotation outside of Olsen (and Mark Hendrickson of all people) were anything close to consistent

Being traded for the guy who just basically carried another team to the world series on his shoulders last post season. The Marlins probably broke the bank on these extensions., Gotta be hovering around $40mil now. I love the "newer" teams the Marlins, D Backs and Rockies of the National League/

Ramon Vazquez hit a walk off solo home run in the bottom of the 10th to give the Rangers the win over Seattle, 13-12.

Jorge Sosa and Nelson Figueroa DFA'd according to Metsblog.
The Jorge Sosa era is apparently over thank god. Wonder if they could get something for Nelson?

The Julian Tavarez era is over in Boston, as he was DFA'd yesterday. I'll miss the crazy bastard.
And I really want to make a Jorge Sosa joke right now, but the 1.89 WHIP is a joke in itself.
