Considering its filled with simply LAW & ORDER re-runs... SMACKDOWN! on NBC Saturday Nights? Just let Kennedy do the liners for NBC: "Friday Night Smackdown! airing Saturdays at 9e/8c only on NBC."

FOX would be a good choice. They love stupid raunchy crap so they could get away with almost anything, and if they were on FOX then suddenly all the asshats on FOX News would stop demonizing WWE. I know you hate "debating" with me, but I ask you this....where would SD! be placed on the FOX prime-time schedule? If SD! is to remain on the primary Networks, then it would have to be NBC on Saturday Nights. One can argue though MyNetworkTV, since its owned by FOX....but I refuse to call it a major network, but hey.....what do I know? Well, most of the MynetworkTV channels used to air SD as UPN channels...

This might be a blessing in disguise. Smackdown could end up on a better night, and on a network with more potential viewers.

Put it on the same time as TNA. That'll make for some good competition.

Would NBC even want to put SD on? The SNME specials (though i liked them) were pretty much ratings flops after all.

Considering its filled with simply LAW & ORDER re-runs... SMACKDOWN! on NBC Saturday Nights? rra, I'm sorry to say, but that move would possibly kill its ratings, as Saturdays are notorious for being ratings wastelands. The best bet for the show would be getting it on USA on Thursday nights, allowing it to face and destroy TNA.

Smackdown does finish ahead of Fox on Friday nights sometimes and I could see them their ratings getting a bit of a bump being on a more prominent network, so maybe that could work out.

I doubt the big four networks would be interested, the ratings it gets aren't that great for network tv (even though more people do watch SD than Raw, Raw's numbers are really good for cable). It's not an attractive show for selling advertising, all it has going for it really is a strong minority viewership, and no rerun slumps.

It's probably going to an NBC owned network, so I'm thinking on the possibility it's going to CNBC. So i guess in that case, JBL would be going back to smackdown, with his new manager, jim "mad money" cramer!

Okay, here's how SmackDown gets back on its feet*
* - and first of all, let me clarify that I do not blame WWE, Vince McMahon or anyone other than UPN/CW. This is 100% CW's fault. They gave SmackDown the patented "Friday Night Death Slot", putting the show on Friday nights from 8-10 p.m., when they know damn well that a majority of the television-watching public is out doing something.
First, they need to put it on USA. If the WWE is sticking with an NBC/Universal-owned network, then their only realistic options are NBC, SciFi and Bravo, and even Bravo is a stretch and a half. SmackDown won't be moving to NBC, because with the writer's strike ending, NBC is going to be inundated with new episodes of the shows it lost during the strike.
Next, they need to move it back to Thursday nights. At least people are watching television on Thursdays, as opposed to Fridays or Saturdays. I know it'll go head-to-head with TNA, but if the #2 brand in WWE faces off with TNA, then SmackDown will crush it into oblivion.
And lastly, I know this is a reach, but can we make SmackDown a live event? Please? I guarantee ratings would go up if half the wrestling-watching world couldn't just go to a website to read what happens on SmackDown.
So basically, here's the formula to save SmackDown:
USA. THURSDAY NIGHTS. 8 P.M. LIVE.

Just imagining House trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with Vince makes me chuckle. But of course, they couldn't keep kayfabe alive without someone beating him into a coma with his own cane inside the first 15 minutes.

Question: If they ever moved SmackDown! back to Thursdays permanently, wouldn't Spike simply move iMPACT! to another day?
