Seriously. The guys a legend, hes worked a huge portion of his life wrestling and he deserves wrestling fans respect, no doubt.
HOWEVER, personally I've never found a single match of his interesting, its samey.
Quite honestly, I always knew who he was, but he left the WWE as I started watching it and I never really got into WCW. When he came back to the WWE, I'd always just flick to something else until he was gone.
I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but my god I'm fed up of the constant references and blogs about him.
Anyone else feel the same?

Nah, not really. His promo on Monday was well worth the praise. I've always found Flair interesting on the mic, I've just never found him that great inside the ring. Still a legend and well worth all the praise.

I'm gonna cut and paste my comments from the Flair GOAT thread
" 60 years old he was able to deliver one of the five greatest promos I've ever seen. Had I been on the fence about ordering Wrestlemania 24 I wouldn't be anymore. People who know far more about wrestling than do I will consistantly put his 3 matches with Steamboat among the top ten pro wrestling matches ever.
He looked like a star, dressed like a star, carried himself like a star. He held the crowd in the palm of his hands. He could make you boo or cheer in the blink of an eye. He could put on a five star match in front of 500 people in Yakima, Washington with Ricky Morton as easily as he could in front of 60,000 at the Hoosier Dome with Randy Savage. He made Ricky Steamboat a main event star. He made Ronnie Effing Garvin a credible main eventer. Everyone he faced no matter where they sat on the card he made look like a credible challenger. He's the greatest heel ever and one of the greatest baby faces.
Ric Flair is the greatest pro wrestler who ever lived and frankly it isn't even close."
He deserves all the love the fans and the E can heap upon him and then some.
So to answer your question, no I'm not fed up with the love fest.

It's most likely Flair's last week in the business he spent 30 year's in, can't we give the guy a break. So what if he isn't the greatEST ever. So what if you think he wasn't the greatest in ring wrestler. The guy is a living legend, and will forever be remembered as a wrestling god, the least we could do is give him a loving send off for all he's done for us.

A little bit. I'm just hoping he ACTUALLY RETIRES this Sunday, so I don't have to put up with him squashing mid carders for another 3 months. It's time for him to get taken to the woodshed if you ask me.

Seriously, you only have four more days before he's gone for good. There will probably a farewell video shown on Raw the next night. Flair deserves all the praise he gets.

I think they would do this for any big time guy who was going out.....
I think the only reason some of us are like yea whatever with Flair is that it's like one of my good friends said to me. "He should have retired 10 years ago"
I know a ton of people that think he hung around far to long, and hurt his legacy and how he'll be remembered in a big way by doing that. There are people watching now that honestly probably know nothing of Flair being great because all they remember is the old man.
Hell I remember when he was great and I wish he had retired sooner so most of my memories wouldn't be of him as the old man.

If anything, its not big enough! Flair is a REAL legend in a business where that word gets thrown about an awful lot. He needs a really big sendoff, and I wouldn`t even mind if he won and carried on for a little while longer, but this weekend seems to be the THE time.

It's time for him to get taken to the woodshed if you ask me. For wrestling, I agree. For being on-screen, I disagree. His charisma, mic skills, and presence could do wonders managing or in an authority figure role. And azz0r, at least you had the right mind to give Flair some props, unlike another person who had an 11 page thread on the subject of this person locked.

I've always liked Flair. His earlier matches with Sting were pretty damn good. I'm glad that his last match on Nitro was again with Sting.......even though, it was a sloppier version of their older matches, it just seemed right to end WCW that way.
It's a shame that I won't be seeing Wrestlemania.......unless my girlfriend gets it, and I totally mooch of her (XD), but I digress.

I'm okay with the love fest. Flair is one of the last true remnants left from the era I started watching wrestling. Hogan comes and goes, but from my childhood there's not really anyone left in the ring besides him, HBK, and 'Taker, and the latter two weren't the mega-stars Ric already was at the time. So I'm going to spread the love for a few more days, because to some of us this really is history.

No, if anything I'm sick of the Show/Mayweather hype. THe setup at No Way Out, plus the in-ring stuff where Mayweather would be owned by both Show and the crowd were good. But these endless video packages when I'm trying to watch some other part of WWE are getting on my nerves

Nope, I'm good with it. Now moreso than ever (thanks, Monday night tribute video and kickass promo!).
And hell, if he wins, I'll be even more into the love fest!

Never really appreciated Slick Ric until I saw him with my very own eyes at a live event last year. That man just oozes charisma! We heard his music go off and the whole arena was cheering. The man deserves all the praise he's getting, trust me. I had only memories of him as the old man, but after I saw him, I was converted. He's a true legend in the business and the promo from Monday night is up there with the best I've ever heard.
