No
Seriously, during his promo on Monday, all I was thinking was "f*** Me, this guy still has it on the mic at least and if the WWE don't get him some sort of on-screen role then they really are brain dead"
His matches nowadays are samey yes (He is 60 after all) but over the length of his career, he in my opinion, has proven to me anyway to be one of the best

If he truly was never going to wrestle or appear in any regular capacity again, I'd be fine with the "love fest" but we all know that's not going to happen.

Oh God...as a professional wrestler I am in fact more inclined to be angry that he isn't getting a BIGGER love fest. Professional wrestling wouldn't be like it is today if it wasn't for Ric Flair. The standard bearer of excellence in the industry for the great majority of his THIRTY PLUS YEAR career. Seriously, this industry is better just because Flair decided to lace up boots. In my opinion, there will never be anybody better than Flair. No matter how much he was f'd with, not matter how many bad angles he had to go through, he always came out on the other side as RIC FLAIR. How many times throughout the years have audiences chanted, with great ANGER towards the bozo's running the industry, "WE WANT FLAIR!!!" when they were being denied the ability to see him perform? Everybody in the industry in some way shape or form is a direct decendant of Flair's influence, be it in their inring style, how they cut a promo, or how they approach a fued. He wasn't the greatest wrestler, but he made you care what happened in that ring each and every time he stepped through the ropes, or picked up a mic. Yes, it was bad watching his downfall the past couple years...but by God if he still isn't better than a good 75% of the roster all around. His promo this past Monday is already in my top five of favorite promos of all time (the other four are Foley, Raven, and Heyman*), and it has made me so sad to know that the biggest living legend that is still active today is going to have his final swan song this Sunday. There will never be another Ric Flair, and this industry is going to be worse of when he finally is done with it for good. So, no, I am NOT fed up with the Ric Flair love fest. As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s that always prefered the types of Flair, Hart, Steamboat, and Micheals, I am going to be watching this Sunday with great pride and a bit of sadness for Ric Flair will be hanging his boots up. *By the way, the promos are 1) Foley's "Cane Dewey" promo, 2) Heyman's "You built Titan Towers with Shawn Micheals smile" 3) Foley's promo to Tommy Dreamer about why the hardcore lifestyle is a lie, 4) Raven's promo after joining TNA and stealing the NWA belt, 5) Flair's promo from Monday night. In fact, I believe that Heyman's promo should be viewed by EVERYONE: youtube.com/watch?v=vswZ73WETpc

The only thing I'm sick of is every week on Raw it's the same thing.
Ric: You better give me your best! Shawn: Oh, you WILL get my best! Ric: Well, you better give me your best! Shawn: Believe me, you will get my BEST! Ric: You better give me your best! Shawn: Oh, you WILL get my best! Ric: Well, you better give me your best! Shawn: Believe me, you will get my BEST! Ric: You better give me your best! Shawn: Oh, you WILL get my best! This is wrestling we are talking about right? And what is the percent of guys that retire that actually retire? He'll be back by this time next year.
With that said, I"m fine with the hype. However, I wish he wasn't fighting HBK. He should be fighting a guy like Punk. That time in ECW when they teamed and had the backstage interview, That would have been a good time to start the respect feud.

Quite honestly, I always knew who he was, but he left the WWE as I started watching it and I never really got into WCW. That explains why you feel the way you do. You haven't seen Ric Flair unless you've seen Ric Flair in NWA/WCW.

I find it a bit sickening how people are treating Ric Flair's exit on this board. So rarely do we get to see wrestlers go out like this, that it's something we should all sit back and cherish. In a business where so many lose their lives at such a young age and never get the chance to have that last hurrah, how can you complain about this? Seeing a guy who wrestled for 30+ years because it's what he loved to do, and leaving on a high note, instead of being in rehab or a pine box is a rare treat for a wrestling fan.I for one am not fed up with it. I am just grateful to be a part of it.

Ric Flair is what I grew up on. I for one am going to be sad, when he steps away from the ring. I have seen him step up his game in the recent months, it actually seems like a completely different Flair from when I first started watching. He is doing things I would have never imagined him doing. He will truly be missed by this wrestling fan.

Ric Flair is the reason why i became a fan of professional wrestling. Watched him in TBS before the NWA became WCW. All his matches were great, even against jobbers. His promos were hillarious and helped everyone get over. I always wanted him to kick the NWO's ass and that cage match with Hogan in 1999, man I loved seeing hogan get his ass kicked by Flair, that was awesome. but seriously, flair will always be the man and he's done a lot of the sport and is truly respected by everyone in the game. true fans of pro wrestling are ric flair fans.

The way I look at it, this is a man who gave his entire life to us the wrestling fans. He has been doing this for longer than most of us have existed. He has traveled all over the world, been injured time after time and is still an active wrestler at his age. And yes I know he has lost a step these last years, but give the guy a break. Like him or hate him, this man has given all that he has to the wrestling world and the wrestling fan, and as this looks like it is going to be his last days as a full time wrestler, for all he has done, I would say, no, no I am not tired of the Ric Flair love fest. The man deserves all the love and respect he is given.

No, I don't have a problem with this. Since Flair is a legend in my heart. I didn't got to see Flair until his run on WWF, since I started watching wrestling in 89 at the age of 3. And his were great when I watched. Then I never got to see him again until WCW Monday Nitro came on TNT. Since I didn't have TBS until like 97 or 98. That when I fully gain a lot of respect for Flair for a lot of his classic stuff.
The one promo I will always remember is the 4 Horsemen reunion of the horsemen, and he went all shoot on Bischoff. That segment made me fully respect Flair since I wasn't a big fan of WCW, but I watch it anyway since I was recording both WWE and WCW for my dad. And I get watch WCW before I go to school on Tuesday. Since I normaly watch Raw on Monday nights.
I'm going to miss the guy, and I will always going to respect him for a great wrestler that he is.

He's a legend. If he doesn't get a "lovefest" on his way out, who the hell does?
Although the actual Shawn/Flair storyline itself isn't too thrilling (for a while it really did seem to be "Bring your best" "I will" "You better" ad naseum), Flair is bringing the goods, his promo was awesome and he deserves a huge send off and probably a bigger one than he's getting anyway.

Flair's promo on Monday took me back, it really did. That was the kind of promo he used to cut. Serious, believable, and just awesome. Memo to everybody on the roster. Tape that, watch it, study it, learn something. You don't have to yell, make gorilla faces, threaten inanimate objects, or make off-color jokes. Serious promos still work. Also, I kept wondering what he had with him, and marked out when he brought out the 10 pounds of gold.
