Almost everyone says that the six sided ring in TNA doesn't bother them, or they have gotten used to it. I just got done watching some old TNA videos where they had the regular four sided ring and it seemed like a completely different show to me. I think that to really take on the image of competing with WWE they should go back to it but, I know that is very unlikely...

Six was a step in the right direction. It was somewhat different. Now they just need to apply that same idea to EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF THE COMPANY.

The 6 sides doesn't add anything for me. It's so deeply ingrained tho, that in my mind that if TNA was to use a 4 sided traditional ring... it just wouldn't feel right.

I don't prefer it to the four-sided ring, but it doesn't bother me at all. It was only really weird to me the first couple times I watched TNA.

They already spent the money to make the six sided ring and six-sidify their gimmick matches, it isn't hurting anything, so no reason to change back.

Why can't they have the ultimate x match in a four sided ring? I know it doesn't matter because it wont change but, I think I would feel alot more comfortable personaly. I mean I am used to it by now but that doesn't mean I think it's better or as good.

Having six sides doesn't make it any better, but it doesn't make it any worse either.

Remember when it had six sides, but only one angle?
Sheesh, that always worried me.

Six sided is pretty awesome for the X-Division matches. Only thing is that the X-Division is more or less an afterthought/comedy division now. I don't think it makes any differences whatsoever with the main event-style matches these days and I wouldn't want to see WWE, ROH, or any other current promotion change to a six-sided ring, but let TNA keep theirs..

They did have Ultimate X in a four sided ring. There' been two of them I believe. I don't thiknk it's a big deal at all. Six sides just one of the things that makes them different. It doesn't effect the matches. There six sides of steel may not be different then a regular cage.

I think the reason why 6 sides are good is because the ropes are tighter and wrestlers are able to bounce off of them more easily and do some cool moves.

I still wish they'd go back to a 4-sided ring, but that's not likely to happen. I've just been a wrestling fan for 25 years and have always been accustomed to the traditional ring. 6 sides makes it feel like the American Gladiators version of wrestling.

6 > 4. It's just that easy.

I honestly don't even notice it. It's been there so long it would just seem weird to have a 4 sided ring.
Plus, as said, it sets them a part from WWE as something different

The six sided ring looks goofy.

I don't like it, it was fine when they were focusing more on the X division and the smaller wrestlers but now that they've shifted into having the major focus be on guys like Angle and the like it's pointless.
I also feel it is an immediate turn off to a casual wrestling fan, WWE fan, I know this from some of my friends who that is the first thing they do when seeing it is comment on the "stupid ring"

Can someone please post the "six sides - just the way your mother likes it, Trebek!" photo? This thread reminds me how desperately I need it!

It doesn't bother me, and that's a bad thing. It should polarise people because of them using it differently every week, but they don't - I don't think it's a bad design or anything, but I don't think it adds anything remotely interesting that means it's worth keeping. Sometimes, especially with the old timers, you see them kinda forget the ring's actually got six sides and they can't do that spot that way.
