Yeah, that's the rub. DC Heroes rule, but their villians suck, and Marvel's heroes suck, but their villians rule. Now, there are exceptions (Darksied, Batman's Rouges) but for the most part, you have cosmic enities like the Flash and Superman taking on guys with funny costumes, and you have guys like Dr. Doom and Galaticus, beings who stand among the universal elite losing to some scientist and his family.

Some scientist? Reed's only the smartest man on the world who was basically Indiana Jones in his youth. And let me know if ANYONE has made themselves look like a bigger tool the Doom in FF Annual #2. Wrestling comedy heels don't screw themselves over that stupidly.

As a side not, one of the great things about the Justice League cartoon is how they actually use some of the lesser known people, Killer Frost being one of them

I can see why Doom regularly fights everyone else in the Marvel universe, and takes on the Devil on Midsummer's eve. He's bored, brother.

Voiced by Jennifer Hale no less. She'll always be Bastila Shan to me, and possibly Katnappe from Xiaolin Showdown

We must be reading different comics entirely, because when has Elongated Man ever been close the smartest man in the world?? He's a good detective, but Reed's more like Lex Luthor. Besides that, if Doom gets tired of being beaten again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again by Reed Richards and wants to get beaten by Spider-Man or the X-Men or Squirrel Girl, or Luke Cage, then thats cool I guess. I wouldn't want to be beaten again and again and again (oh, you get the idea) by the same person in say, Counter Strike. I guess he wants to mix it up, so he can fail against other people too.

I don't know, I've always found him a pretty interesting villain. Probably because of the moral code. Plus, he's against The Flash. Flash villain>most other villian, simply because they're against The Flash.

Captain Cold and the Flash rogues may be the ebst in comics, Me being a huge Spider-man fan is finding them better than Spidey's awesome rogue gallery these days(probably because they barely use it these days).
No the Flash rogues are amazing. Their powers may seem lame, but that is the point, they still go toe to toe with the freaking Flash who is pretty much a force of Nature. They are smart, cunning, and ruthless.
Do not diss the Rogues or Cold(who is a ton deeper than Freeze these days).

The bad guy can be as cunning, calculating, and smart and powerful as you want ,but the SECOND a guy named "Captain Cold" or "Mirror Master" shows up, I bust out laughing, because it's just such a stupid gimmick. I'm sorry, but I just can never find myself looking at them as any kind of threat. Gorilla Grodd's a bit of a different story, but even he's not that great.
