Here's a thread paying tribute to cool artists/bands that made an impact on the UK music charts, but didn't get anything beyond a cult following in America.
I figured that I'd start with this:

Chumbawumba was really only a one hit wonder band here but unless I'm wrong they WERE at one time pretty big in the UK.
Only video I could find was this anime thing for it. My favorite song of theirs by far.

Blur is pretty much a one-hit-wonder in the U.S., but they are/were huge in the U.K.

Noone I know in the U.S. really has heard of N-Trance. Yet they've had two #2 songs in the UK (Stayin' Alive from above and Set You Free which I posted in another thread the other day)
I only found out about them when a local record store had marked all their CD singles down to a quarter one week with the purchase of a full length CD. I found the "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" single. For Christmas, I had the store order me Happy Hour which, they messed up and sent to a wrong store, so I got it two weeks late for $13, which was cool since pretty much every CD in there was $18.

And that was probably the same one they had in the US, Tubthumping. Strangely enough, in terms of weeks on the charts the #1 artist in the UK has never been big in the US. And that is the one and only Cliff Richard.

Pulp- Different Class is my favourite album.
There best known song is common people.
Here's Disco 2000 (don't you love things with 2000 at the end?).

Cliff songs are so cheesy pop it isn't funny, lol ;D ----- Ah Suede (Original poster of the thread) I was more a fan of this song ... New Generation

So bad, yet...so good.
