From what I understand, Faith No More were really big in the UK. In the US they kinda only had a cult following after "Epic".

Robbie Williams would be a famous example. MASSIVE in the UK for a long period of time. However was virtually unheard of in the US.

The only reason I can really remember him is because of having to play several arrangements of his songs for British people. Good stuff, though.

Sparks. Ron and Russell Mael were (and are) ages ahead of their time, and huge in the UK, but unknown stateside. Lil' Beethoven is a friggin' masterpiece.

I'm not saying I was a huge Spice Girls fan, but honestly I can only name one of their songs and they weren't famous here for THAT long.
I believe their UK success lasted a lot longer.
Are their any bands that made it big here in the States but nobody liked in the UK? Did people in the UK really get into hair metal like Poison, Bon Jovi, and Motley Crue? Those just seem like bands only Americans would like haha.

The Darkness were pretty big in the UK, dunno how they did in the US. I thought they were gonna blow up over here, but they wound up just being known for that "Thing Called Love" song (which actually isn't bad), then dissappearing.

Wasn't one of their albums voted the greatest of all time in some magazine poll in the UK? I never got what the big deal was. And neither did anybody else in the US.
