I've never watched ROH but from how I've been reading so long on here about how great this Colt Cabana, I was left dumbfounded wondering what is suppossed to be so great about this guy. Came off as dorky and definitely isn't a physical speciman or high flyer from what I saw. I'll give it some time to see what he can do but jobbing cleanly to Brian Kendrick doesn't indicate to me that the WWE has any big plans for him.

No one expects him to come in and have CM Punk success, but he should be a solid mid carder and a good canidate for the US/IC title. you know, if they start calling Colt "Boom Boom" Goldman it would be awesome.

Alright, to all the negativity: If your going to come in here just to complain about unfunny you think he is and how much you think he sucks, there is another option. Don't click the thread. I understand if you honestly have some criticism and would like to share an honest opinion, but if your coming here just to say "I never thought he was good, and I dont think he ever will" then just dont... (A little exhausted here, so I'm hopin that made sense)
Alright, here are my thoughts:
When I first heard, the name, I was like everyone else: "Holy crap, he's through...". But then I watched the match. Honestly... He's just Colt. I thought the promo, while corny, was still fun, and the match was still solid, even if he was jobbing. While I do hope they either change or at least edit it to something closer (like his real name or something less... corny), I think he is pretty safe, and has a future in this company
...God, I'm hopin this all made sense

Colt did a lot better then Jay Bradley did on his debut, that's for sure.
But I enjoyed the match. Him and Kendrick had great chemistry, and I hope something continues between these two.

definitely isn't a physical speciman or high flyer from what I saw. What on earth gave you the impression he was either of those things? I don't know if I've ever heard anyone describe Colt as a high flyer or a physical specimen.

Maybe the whole thing is just Vince's way of pissing on the smarks. Nothing out of his pocket cause the average fan at the arenas doesn't care about the guy.

Lost in all this is that we now know Ezekiel's last name (Jackson). With his gimmick, it would probably have been better with no last name.

He's had one ten-second promo and one short match where he did the job. I think it's a little too soon to decide that he's never going to get over with the fans at the arenas. Besides, why would Vince want to piss off the smarks? He can be petty, but he's also a businessman. Why would he want to annoy a good section of his audience, people who buy DVDs and pay for WWE 24/7?

Just watched it. I LOVE IT! That's Colt Cabana in a nutshell right there. Granted a nutshell where we can't see all that makes him so great, but it's only one week.

This is very much the truth. I hate the attitude that if a guy can't pop the entire crowd in his first tv match, he isn't over, never will be, and the company should just cut their losses on the guy. Where's the patience? If WWE had cut their losses on a generic white meat babyface named John Cena or a big muscle head named Deacon Batista on their first couple of weeks in, where the hell would WWE be right now?
