Calling Hogan a douche for his past actions and giving Shawn a free pass is mind boggling to me.
And the Impact Zone would shit on anyone who doesn't bleed TNA.

I didn't take the chant seriously either as the point that Sting was bringing up was that he was a very well known and recognized figure in wrestling, which he is. As for being overrated, I think they ought to look into their own roster personally, but that's just my take on it. And with last night, I don't think people knew who he meant at first, if he had said "Brother" that would've probably garnered a reaction as that is what Hogan is known for in my estimation.

The fact is, wrestling wouldn't have the same success it has today if it wasn't for Hogan. And I find that alot of the people who slag him off, were not there watching the WWF in the 80's, so they don't know what he did for the business.

While I agree that there's a lot of bandwagon-following in the fanbase... there's also plenty of us who don't like him that lived through the 80s. And while what he did for the industry was huge, he still annoyed the crap out of me. I almost got thumped at WMII for cheering Bundy over him.

I respect Hogan's influence, and he is arguably numero uno in the industry over the years.
Don't like him but some of his promos are so bad, they're great. He's kinda like wrestling's version of Rocky Balboa.

Apparently we were all going to sink to the bottom of the sea, where Hogan would go on to pin his next two opponents and then save all the Hulkamaniacs, including the Trump family, by putting all of them on his back and swimming to safety...by doing a backstroke.

It's wrestling, not meant to be on par with Shakespeare or anything. Guys like Hogan, Savage and Warrior would say things that sounded off the wall, but yet fans still marked for them.

Hogan is the best wrestler ever. Anyone who loves wrestling should bow at his feet, if not for him, we wouldn't have anything.
As far as his, or any celebrities personal business. I could care less. I blame all that crap on the Internet. Same as my personal life is none of Hogan's business, his is none of mine.
I love wrestling. And it's because of Hulk Hogan that the IWC haters can sit in front of their TV for 5 hours a week, for free, and bitch about it on these boards.

Nah i don't agree with that for a minute, guy's like Bruiser Brody were already doing pretty good before Hogan became a megastar and did so without the help of Vince for years to come. Change that to 'anyone who loves WWE' and i'd agree with you but Hogan isn't responsible for the creation and popularity of every single wrestler and fed since the 80's.

In the ring and on the mic, he bores me to death, but I can't really bring myself to dislike the guy. Same goes for Flair.

He's absolutley the reason pro wrestling went mainstream. If it hadn't, about .1% of the world would know who Bruiser Brody is.

I just want to see it to believe it or believe it to see it ;D To be honest, it wasn't even like it was the whole crowd, it sounded more like one section of it, throwing up a "Overrated" chant. Not sure what he's overrated in to be honest, it's not like what Sting had said about him being well-known was false. And it certainly isn't about his wrestling as he'd be the first to say he's not a technical wizard.

Vince McMahon is the reason pro wrestling went mainstream. This. And if it wasn't for MTV, Mr. T, and Cyndi Lauper...Hogan would have not gotten as big as he did. Vince got the still new music channel, the hottest act in Hollywood, and arguably the hottest act in music and brought them all together with the WWF. Without T and Lauper, Wrestlemania would have tanked.

Well i have to admit i never got int Hulkamania, i guess, partly because i'm not American i just couldn't get int his all american thing. and I startedwatching in 91,
but on a whole I think his WCW shenanigans tarnished his legacy in the eyes of the more smarkish element, but i think WCW brought out the worst in alot of wrestlers
I also don't like the hes the greatest cs hes the first crap, Elvis is considered by many to be the greatest, but i'm not a great fan
